What I think is great is every album has its own personality and context to the time period of the world as well as the band. That being said, No Code is my favorite album.
"...what a different life had i not found this love with you..."
I wake up thankful every day for Moline and Milwaukee! It was my first time really following a tour, and my goodness, were those ever ones for the ages?! Love both albums equally. Though when they came out and I was an angsty 17-ish year old, I definitely didn't appreciate them for the masterpieces they are.

I'm a huge avocado fan, but their best album is ten I don't even thing it's close. Yield is my personal favorite tho. But if I could choose an album at a show that they sing the most songs from it would def be avocado. I'm tired of 10 live.
Binaural for me is their deepest and darkest recording. There's so many subtleties that you can pick up on with every subsequent listen. Every song on that record is so damn good and it feels like every song is a piece to the puzzle. The way it was recorded truly feels like you are being taken somewhere else. Fatal, In the Moonlight, and Sad should have made it on.

How great is PJ, there's a legit case for any of their albums being the best (maybe not the 2 latest). For me its avocado. One song in particular is really super extra important to me, a couple are only slightly less special, a few are just absolute bangers and the remaining are awesome songs at worst.
Here's an interesting bit of knowledge, the self titled album or avocado is the only album (aside from ten) without Brenden O'brian

I think they're all pretty great but if I had to choose 1, it would probably by Vs. Has a nice diverse range of what Pearl Jam is capable of. Hard, soft, mid tempo, sing-alongs, etc.

I hate ranking the albums because it (almost) make it look like I like the band less and less as time goes by - which couldn't be further from the truth, 1a. Ten 1b. Vs 3. Vitalogy 4. Yield 5. No Code 6. Binaural 7. Riot Act 8. Self-Titled/Avocado 9. Lightning Bolt 10. Backspacer
Virology thru Yield was the peak for me! But when No Code came out there was just something special about that album. I was a sophomore in high school. I remember listening to that album for the 1st time at the tennis courts around my home. My friends were not into PJ and probably didn't understand.
No Code just had a little bit of everything. The variety of sounds was wonderful. Love the production on Off He Goes..
I can't understand the negativity towards riot act. It is the hidden gem. Very underrated.
Exactly! A Hidden gem but hidden nonetheless. I just finally got it a few months ago. I got a new pair of headphones and a dark room and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Riot Act baby!

But I pick Yield as my pick.
My opinion, but...Riot Act has some good stuff on it (You Are) but probably (just like Avocado) has the most forgettable songs from the PJ catalog. Help Help, Get Right, etc. I wouldn't miss it if they skipped the album during a show!
Vitalogy, maybe No Code. So hard to pick with this band! ...which is a good problem. :-)
After Moline and Milwaukee I was hoping they'd play Vitalogy all the way through in Denver. When they started Last Exit I really thought we had a chance... and then came Why Go. :-) It would have been cool to hear Vitalogy all the way though but, man, we got a great show in Denver!
