I would go with the pair that is closer to the stage....just based on my experiences in the past! The louder the sound quality the better the show!

Yeah I was thinking that too, plus the other set is further from the stage anyway

Dude the garden is relatively small, goes high up... 406 is up there ... I'd go w 200 sec tickets
If I don't see you no more in this world, I'll meet you on the next one...

Def 200 section...the 400 sec at the garden is separated from the rest of arena- you feel disconnected from the audience.

    keep the section 227 seats
if i had never been to msg before, i agree that picture is deceiving
but if there were people on stage in that picture, you'd definitely choose 227

I don't want to start a new thread on this topic, so I will add my question here and hope someone sees it.

If you have been to MSG, which area is better to sit? Section 319, Row 2, Seat 9-8 or Section 417, Row 6, Seat 10-11?
    well, fuckers, he still stands

Quite possibly haha. With new garden safest bet is closer. It gets very high up there. Always enjoyed lower seats even at farther distance there.
Just wish I got tix haha

I heard there are barstool seats in 319? That almost sounds fun? But I don't know if these would be the barstool seats. I don't know what to expect up there. I've never been to MSG. Hell, I haven't been to NY since I was in 3rd grade. (That was a long time ago.)

A friend's boss may want the extra pair and is talking with his wife tonight. If they don't want them....

Garden nosebleeds / 400s are horrendous - and much more vertical than say Barc Ctr... i'd go 200s as well

I will buy your extra pair off you, don't care where they are, as long as it's night 1. Thanks!

Unfortunately, those in the 200s were not my choice. I have the 319 or 417 to choose from. I am running with the "in the building" line of thinking.

And here is why I probably should have started a new thread. The 200 or 400 question was posted by someone in 2010. I was trying not to start a new thread and pulled up this old one and posted my question for 2016. I have tickets in 319 and 417. I'm trying to decide which one to keep.

I am taking my son to his first PJ show. He has not been a huge fan of the band. This is because when he was 4, I mentioned in passing something about loving Eddie. That did not sit right with him. Mommy is supposed to love daddy, not Eddie, and a dislike was born. Fourteen years later, he has softened some and I want him to see how incredible a live PJ show can be. I thought it best to do it in NY because he loves NY. I think people get raped, mugged, or murdered in NY (that is what happens on Law and Order), so he wants me to see another side of NY. This show is going to be a way for us to each share with the other something we love. I want to make sure I pick the right seat. So 319 or 417?

I have season tickets to the New York Rangers at MSG.Both of your pairs are behind the stage as it's set up. The seats in section 319 are on the balcony and sort of in the corner. Seats in section 417 are higher up, also behind the stage, but more towards the center. The seats in 319 are to the left of the seats in 417. I don't know which one I would pick in this scenario, given they are both behind the stage. Your view is essentially the same, in that it's the back of the stage. The sound system in MSG is brand new, so sound won't be a huge issue.

I suppose, if I had to choose, I'd choose the seats in 417, as it seems to be closer to the center of the back of the stage, even though they may be higher up.

Another way you can get a glimpse of the view is by going to stub hub and looking at a seat map for the NY Rangers, click on tickets in the sections you have seats in and that will give you an idea of the view. I believe the seats in 317 are barstools.

Thank you! I didn't know you could get a view like that with Stub Hub. That definitely helped. I am going to stick with the 417 over the 319.
PJ has really spoiled me with 10C tickets. I haven't been this far back and up for any concert since I was in college. I guess it is best to bring my son to these type of "commoner" seats. I don't want him to start off as spoiled. ;-)
    Looking forward to it!
And as always, thank you to everyone who helped me with my indecisiveness.
