Fenway vs. Wrigley

Which venue should I pick - Fenway or Wrigley and why? Can't do both unfortunately.

Its tough. I like Chicago better as a city, I like Fenway better as a park. Being a little biased since I've seen PJ at Wrigley, I might choose Fenway.

  • Tough one. You really can't go wrong with either. I'd say whichever is the easier place for you to travel to.

Maybe the one with the best odds when the ticket lottery comes up. I'm guessing that the odds are going to be a lil rough for both.

I'm choosing Fenway (assuming I definitely go) simply because it's closer to me and I've already done the Wrigley trip.

Both are gonna have great shows, though. If you've never been to either I would say go Wrigley. Chicago in the summer is awesome!

I'm gonna try for Wrigley. Both parks are great I'm sure, but if I were to travel to one it would be Wrigley.

Both cities are amazing in the summer.

Fenway has a great vibe around it before and during shows, it's currently in beautiful condition, and there are lots of great bars around the park.

I'm sure you could also say those things about wrigley.

  • Fenway. It's much smaller than Wrigley, and I went to wrigley for the rain show. I saw the Foos last summer at Wrigley and was impressed with how small it felt, and how the crowd behind home plate still felt like they were part of the show.

I chose Fenway simply because I'm in NYC and it's much easier to get there. Both will be special.

In 2006 I was able to walk from a hotel to the show in Boston. Is Fenway in the middle of Boston near many hotels or on the edge of Boston.

On my PJ song tracking / nerd spreadsheet, I've had Fenway on my bucket list of venues to see Pearl Jam at for a solid 10 years or more. I just hope I can score 10C tickets when the drawing happens.
Wrigley was awesome in '13 and I highly recommend the Wrigley experience for anyone thinking about it. I'm all in for Fenway though. Thrilled it's finally happening.

Then you're in big trouble. If you can only do one, decide beforehand.

Having done Wrigley I am more excited about seeing a show at Fenway. I don't think you can go wrong with either. If you don't have an affinity for either ballpark then pick the city you like better to visit, or perhaps look at the $$$ of travel.

The intangible in this is that Ed loves the Cubs and Wrigley, so it would be human nature that he wants to make sure Wrigley comes out great. Also, the band may want to make up for the prior Wrigley show (unfinished business,) so they could do something extra special. Personally, I just hope they play the songs that were scratched off the original setlist so I can finally hear "Other Side".

Fenway then. Do you know if we will be able to gamble for both nights at Fenway? Say both GA´s?

Does anyone else think Fenway and Wrigley are going to be more than just two stand alone shows? I see one of the two following scenarios playing out:

A ) There is a gap between both stadium shows because there will be a fanclub only show before the first stadium show. Similar to the Vic in 2007. In a much smaller venue.

B ) The in-between date at the stadium shows will be a separate concert with bands that Pearl Jam has connections to (Star Anna, Joseph Arthur, etc). Here is the catch, if you want to buy tickets to either of the stadium shows in that city, you have to sign up for the in-between show, kinda like how PJ20 tickets were for both nights. This gives the stadium shows more of a destination weekend feel. Pearl Jam gains an extra day of selling merchandise. Pearl Jam members likely will show up and join some of the bands for a song or two.

    What do you think?

Naw, I think the gaps just because the boys are getting older and they want to make sure they have the energy to make both nights epic.

If I was required to buy tickets to see another band in order to see Pearl Jam, I would feel like I was being extorted.

Would love to do both too but can only pick one. Fenway or Wrigley.

I'm kinda leading towards Fenway. Being that it's closer to me. Though what happen back in '13 at Wrigley, the guy's will probably want revenge from that storm delay that took place so they can make up the lost time there onto these new shows which means longer set.
