How much are they calling for?
Last I heard, they were saying it could go on for 36 hours?

Yeah it started around midnight last night and they are saying it wont stop until 3am.
I was hoping to kick the kids out of the house and make them go play in the snow, but it is not fun outside right now. Lost of wind and it is cold!

Was it last year? Or the winter before? Where the East Coast was going to be DOOMED by a Giant snowstorm, yet when you woke up the next day, all you got was 3-5 inches! All the weatherman were on TV the next day apologizing. Haha

Looks like the forecasters were spot on with this storm though.

It seems to happen every year!!! But this has lived up to the hype so far. I hear it is worse south of us.

Snow is one thing, it's inevitable. But the flooding as an added bonus? Terrifying.
    Stay safe.

we left Johnstown, PA yesterday 4:30pm, got on the PA Turnpike headed east. The storm that was expected around midnight had already begun.

We drove past the accident (tractor trailer jack-knifed) that blocked the west-bound lanes of the Turnpike - there are still 500 people stuck there 24 hours later. We got to follow a few snowplows and finally made it home by 9, so not too bad.

We have been snowed in all day, at times white-out conditions. I would say there is at least 2 feet of snow and it has not stopped yet.

When this all stops and the wind slows down, I will fire up the snow blower and clear out the drive-way.

Last time I looked out, it appears that the plow has taken out the mail box, so I have that going for us.

We've dodged the bullet for the most part here in MA, big high pressure block kept brunt of storm from rolling through here. That said they have upped the projected snow total in my area (south shore, half way between Boston and Cape Cod) from 1-3 inches this morning to 5-8 inches now. Started snowing around 1PM, only an inch or 2 on ground currently, but very windy. Power has gone out twice for a moment already. Coastal flooding concerns here as well though shouldn't be anything as bad as mid Atlantic is already seeing.

Good luck to everyone south of me, I know what you're dealing with and its no fun.

ETA: As soon as I posted the above, power went off for 3rd time (with dinner in the oven of course). Again only for a minute, but I'm getting tired of resetting clocks.

I'm in Greenwich CT and we have about 12 inches. Supposed to go until about 1am and it snowing the hardest now that it has all day. I bet we hit 20. Been in all day. I usually go out and dig out the car a few times so i don't have to do it all at once but the wind is so bad I decided to deal with it tomorrow!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
