If I go public I think I just have to pay the €60 doctor's fee though. Don't you have to pay for everything in America? Being Ireland, we probably only have about 10 MRI machines in the whole country hahaldent42 said:

I need to get an MRI but there's a 6 month wait to get it done through the public system or else €250-350 to get it private. Then if I need the operation it'll cost €1000-€2000 without insurance
Trying to sort myself some insurance before I start the whole process so that I don't have to disclose it as an existing medical condition!Post edited by jnimhaoileoin on0 -
I honestly don't know how it works. I need an MRI too so I will ask when I call to make the appointment.jnimhaoileoin said:

Yea I do but I have public insurance. It's really complicated here. I got Medicaid under Obamacare. So most private practice doctors won't take it because it's a pain in the ass for them to get paid. They also have pretty stupid parameters about what they will and will not pay for. For example, the doctor wanted to get a ultrasound of the thing in my neck to see if there's any blockage, but Medicaid won't pay for it because I'm too young for that. They also denied my dentist's request for a root canal because I already have 8 contact points or something. Like it's incredibly stupid. But I can't afford regular insurance so I just have to deal with it. But I don't have to wait 6 months to get the MRI I just have to call the place for an appointment (which I keep forgetting to do) and I shouldn't have to wait more than a couple weeks.jnimhaoileoin said:

Why is it always difficult to give up an old item of clothing that is just so worn? Especially shoes. Got new Converse today. The old ones were 5 years old and falling apart pretty badly....but the memories! Those shoes have seen 7 countries in 3 continents, went through 4 years of the ups and downs of college, through a move and then back home again, jumped through and endured the floors of hundreds of amazing concerts which hold countless amazing memories, and even survived a couple summers of being a camp counselor haha
Excited to see where these new shoes will take me!"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

How terrible the upstairs neighbor's taste in music and voice is. Oh man, make it stop!! ... although I guess it is slightly hilarious to hear this man just BELTING out Ed Sheeran (probably the best music I have ever heard him play - it's usually fucking club music with way too much bass. I like Ed Sheeran at least), having no clue that everyone in the building can hear him perfectly. He is REALLY going for it. I bet he's even singing into a hairbrush mic.
Oh god... he is just getting more and more into it by the minute, hahaha.

I feel for you! I have a pair of doc martens sandals that I wore everywhere for 7 years, last time I wore them it was to Pj20, the rain destroyed them the first day. I had other shoes, but when I got home a few days later I realized the damage, cannot wear them...I still have them.samjam said:Why is it always difficult to give up an old item of clothing that is just so worn? i would like to be at the swimming pools right now and cooling off with a nice big ice-creme afterwards but instead im home in my room in front of a fan but luckily i have cold peroni to drink
summer = beer but still rather be in water0 -
That sounds pretty good for the MRI. Doing anything through the public system takes ages here. My GP referred me to an endocrinologist and it was a 5 month wait for an appointment. So while it's free, you wouldn't want anything to be too urgent!ldent42 said:
