I say 2017 as well, IF they start working on it next year.NewJPage said:2017 if we're lucky. Going by their pace of late it's about 18 months from when they initially start, which they haven't done

Amen to that... love that song.FrankY59 said:I'm still good with a daily dose of Getaway for at least the next couple years...so take your time, no rush.
But if I ever get sick of that song..."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0 -
I wish they would dump the album format and just pump out EPs and singles. They could probably do a burst or 2 of releases then a year, even if they just end up with 2-3 tracks. Its alot better than waiting 3-4 years for 12 tracks (seeing as they have stopped b-sides).0

Honestly I'd rather get a Tool album in 2016 and a Pearl Jam album in 2017. I don't think Pearl Jam comes out with a record next year. Hopefully we just get a ton of shows in the U.S.Worcester1 13, Worcester2 13, Hartford 13, San Diego 13, Los Angeles1 13, Los Angeles2 13

Or, better yet, they could drop new albums on the same day like they did in 2006.SmallestOceans said:Honestly I'd rather get a Tool album in 2016 and a Pearl Jam album in 2017. I don't think Pearl Jam comes out with a record next year. Hopefully we just get a ton of shows in the U.S.

It would be nice for them to change it up a bit though! Get one out in a short space of time. Be more instinctive!
But with less and less money made from albums these days I think it will be a while before we see another one.
Maybe they'll do some writing before the tour next year and during the tour too. Depending on how expansive next years touring is they may not start proper recording until '17.
Ultimately it comes down to Eds willingness to get in there and pen some vocals to music that he's happy for the guys to flesh out.
I don't think they're in any rush personally.
I hope I'm wrong!

I never thought i'd say this but it's getting harder and harder for me to get excited about a new PJ album when the guys aren't even excited about making one. It's been real obvious they are just punching the clock the last couple of records. A handful of inspired songs and a few songs that wouldn't have been B-sides 15 years ago. And they're still trucking around the Lightning Bolt stage setup 2+ years after the album came out like it's still one big tour... come on0

I think you have it completely backwards. I think they are doing exactly what they want to do and only what they want to do.mr bungle said:I never thought i'd say this but it's getting harder and harder for me to get excited about a new PJ album when the guys aren't even excited about making one. I know they're doing EXACTLY what they want. I don't have it backwards at all. I'm just saying they don't seem too excited about making new music anymore and it doesn't flow out of them as easily either, which makes it harder and harder to get excited about forced albums every four years. How do I have it backwards?rgambs said:

I think the notion that they are just punching the clock is what's backwards. They are enjoying themselves and feeling fulfilled to my eyes, and if that means they have less drive to turn out albums, well sucks for us lolmr bungle said:

I understand being less than thrilled with the pace of new albums but I disagree that they are coming out forced.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -
Fair enough. I see you're point. Maybe I didn't quite explain myself very well... I agree that they are all happier than they probably have ever been. My only point is like what you said, less drive to turn out albums and in turn i'm getting less and less excited about new music... But I still love this band!0

They are at the top of their game performance wise, and it is shaping up to be a great year for the Faithful!Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -
Well said, I can't wait for the tour dates to get announced! looks like i'll have to travel as it doesn't look like any NW dates are coming... If you listen to the rumors0

With Ed`s voice kicking ass on the SA tour it gives me hope that they are working on one. Be nice if they could go back to their roots 1 last time before they`re grandfathers.0
