Depends how deep you want to go down the rabbit hole.

I use a vacuum record cleaning machine with MOFI solution for each album I get (including new ones). Then put all albums (even new ones) in a MOFI sleeve and save the original sleeve.

Before each play I hit the album with the dry brush and the stylus with the Onzow Zerodust.

Every week or so I do a more thorough cleaning of the stylus, with a solution and brush.

Any combination of these things will help you're playback and extend the life of your albums and stylus.

    Yea, I admit I do have a problem :)

However, if you have a decent record player, a decent size collection (maybe 300+) albums and you spin them fairly frequently...a vacuum RCM is the best investment you can make. Especially, if you shop in the used bins at all.

It's shocking how much difference it makes. They start at around $300 or $400 and go up from there. Seems like a lot, but like I said...if you have a decent size collection it's like a buck an album and it makes a huge difference.

Plus, you really only should have to clean them once as long as they are put in a clean sleeve. From that point a 5 second dry brush before each spin and you're good to go.

Ginko makes a dust cover for my record player... $369. I just cannot justify buying it even though I know dust is hurting it.

I imagine you could make your own for a lot less than $369.00.
