Paperless Tickets for HOT SHOWS-Pearl Jam?

I'm struggling with why PJ have never done this.
Eddie knows Bruce's phone #...they should talk more often IMO
Bruce has been doing this for years(1999 was the first year I had this happen for Bruce and got 12th row floors). It works and it puts more tickets in the fan's hands and not the scalpers!!
Not for every section in the venue but certainly some.

Here's Ticketbastard's policy on paperless tickets for Bruce's The River Tour(a hot ticket for sure!!)

Some locations are CREDIT CARD ENTRY only; RESTRICTIONS APPLY: CREDIT CARD USED FOR PYMT AND ID REQ'D TO ENTER; TICKET IS NON TRANSFERABLE.
SELECT LOCATIONS are Credit Card Entry ONLY. Please click here for more information on Credit Card Entry.
Credit Card Entry tickets for this event are NON TRANSFERABLE.
At ENTRY you must provide the CREDIT CARD USED TO PURCHASE AND MATCHING VALID PHOTO ID.
Entire party MUST enter the venue at the same tim

As I assume there are increased costs, I'd be happy to pay a little more for a system like this knowing that it's putting tickets in to the hands of people that will actually attend the show.

10c's will call policy probably cuts down on a lot of scalping, I guess paperless would kill the rest, possibly making it easier for fans to get tickets.

Springsteen doesn't do it at all shows.. it might be venue specific. I only a attended my first paperless show this year. U2 made it so all fan club tickets were paperless and regular tix were paper. I guess it makes sense, but I miss having a proper ticket stub. The little printout they give you is weak sauce.

By 'hot show' you must be referring to the ones where BlackDiamond attends right?

Maybe this is why the rumored announcement of the rumored tour is rumored to be delayed.

I wonder if they had paperless ticketing in the 1800s?

Bruce is doing it on every show on this tour except MSG NYC and that venue has always been really sketchy as far as trying to get tickets into the fans hands(IMO)

Yes U2 did it for the GA floors and they have been doing it for a few tours now. I'm in that fan club as well. The system works

Indeed the little ticket print out sucks but if you scour the floor/stands after the show you will find a proper stub. I keep all of my stubs and I have found a stub for almost every show I've had paperless for.

You are correct about that, which is why I made a new post on this today. We've all chatted about it for years and yet still PJ doesn't get it.
I just don't understand their lack of wanting to do this for some sections, when all sorts of other bands have been doing it for years.
The system works and there are zero negatives, other than, yes it takes a little longer to get in the venue, and yes, the little paperstub sucks...but that's the only 2 complaints I've ever read about why it isn't good and those issues don't outweigh the positives. Not even close!
I'm just trying to get more fans into the building at face value for Toronto 2 on the new tour cause the chances of winning 10C for that tour closing show will be really bad.

I believe NY still has a law against paperless tickets.

"Mon, May 16th 2011 5:13 pm EDT - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed the state's paperless ticketing bill into law, a move that continues to keep New York as the only state that makes non-transferable paperless tickets illegal."

Can you guess who supports that law???

Completely agree, all 10C tix and other lower level tickets at least should require immediate entry!

This was the first U2 tour to employ paperless entry.

And NY has a law against it thanks to a strong broker (scalper) lobby, so MSG doesn't have it for Bruce. Bruce only has it for select sections, example in Hartford its just the lower sections 102-105 and 114-117, so not the GA.

U2 Fan Club reserved seats were not paperless, just the GAs.

Count me as one thinks paperless on top of fan club is overkill.

Is this where the show list goes?

    11-26-91 / 8-2-92 / 3-15-94 / 7-9-95 / 7-11-95 / 8-29-98 / 9-1-00 / 10-25-03
    10-23-04 / 10-22-06 / 10-9-09 / 10-23-10 / 10-3-12 / 7-9-13 / 10-21-13
    11-24-13 / 11-26-13 / 10-17-14 / 10-20-14 / 10-25-14 / 4-8-16 / 4-9-16
     4-28-16 / 4-29-16 / 8-20-16 / 8-22-16 / 8-10-18 / 8-18-18 / 8-20-18

Right and it nothing to do with the fan club. I got one pair of GA's through the U2.com presale and a pair for another show through the general sale, all were paperless.

    Seats all had conventional tickets.

If you're not gonna go paperless/immediate entry, at least print the 10C member's name on the tickets so scalpers can be weeded out. Of course I would love custom tickets like 1995, but I know that is harder to do.

i don't like paperless tickets. they are a pain in the u know where. leave this club alone. there is always a way to scalp tickets paperless or not. most tickets in this club i think are not scalped at all. a few rotten apples don't spoil the barrel. the righteous police seem to be everywhere these days.

I'm not sure about 2014 or 2015, but the 2013 tickets were custom. The 10c ones had a lightning bolt design to them, but the regular TM tickets looked like regular TM tickets.

Everyone in the section I talked to I was in at the Pittsburgh show in 2013 had to buy our tix off Stubbhub. They`re getting even worse, I swear they just bought every Tool ticket to the 10 or so shows they are doing. Logging in at 10am and a whole tour of arenas being sold out is not cool with me.
