eye obelisks

in my eyes over there
a far off world twists about
like a spider's web across the path
tiny voices say, "you'll feel better one day"

please understood
i did my best
even the carving staircase lifts
woodchips gather piled at the floor
you were painting alongside my mess

our hands meet in the middle every time
some delays rang through with thorn like scrapes
a brittle ceiling growing thicker each day
something touching a hive up there (just) that fast
roughly chiseled garden obelisks powerful & high caress our clouds playing with the sky as kittens inside grandmother's yawn basket
