I remember being really excited for Tommy Hanson. Too bad it never worked out and I was shocked to see his passing. I'm 29 too, so that kinda threw me off.

That's fine but they could have signed Miller last year for pretty much the exact same salary and not get rid of 3 legit prospects

Dombrowski loves depleting a farm. That is not a good trade, especially with koji

Especially with Koji? He's 40 and coming off a injury. Craig Kimbrel is 27(turns 28 in May) and again, is under control for 3 years, and is MORE then proven he's a stud closer who's in his PRIME.

Red Sox, or any other team can't outbid the Yankees(in this case for Miller). Sox wanted and tried to sign Miller, but he took the Yankees offer.

Yeah, Dombrowski does love to deplete the Farm, but HOPEFULLY the ownership won't let him do that, and if he does: he BETTER bring a WS Title back to Boston.

That was too many prospects for a closer regardless of how good he is. How much better did Chapman make the Reds this past season? Those prospects could have been used to try and land better starting pitching. I still think Price ends up a Cub and Greinke is not going to the AL. Red Sox need front line pitchers and trading for one would have been a smarter use of excess prospects.

I guess it just doesn't matter to me whether they were blocked or not. I just think that 3 good prospects for a closer is too much to give up. I wanted the Yanks to go after Kimbrel too so I don't doubt how good he is, but I wouldn't want the yanks to give up a similar package of players for a closer regardless if they are blocked.

2 things: The Yankees, basically have 2 closers in Miller & Betances and they don't have the wealth of prospects/suspects, the sox have>LOL>A lot of their top prospects are already up with the Red Sox. Plus, they have plenty of more,(if you believe everything you read/hear about their Farm system).

They do and one is on the block. Would fucking love for the yanks to get the Boston haul for Miller. I'd do that in a heart beat.
