  • It is quite apparent it did not take Albertans long to realize the provincial election was a big mistake. Blue streak.
Albertans will never forgive the Liberals for the NEP. Trudeau would have been wise to apologize for his father.

    Why?

Things seem to be going pretty good for him right now.

Who cares if he doesn't have Alberta's support?

  • The crystal ball predicts the next four years are about to be stale.

Is this the same crystal ball you used to predict westerners spitting out our lattes seeing the east coast conservative support?
    Yup

It's strange, a majority is arguably a more efficient government, but I feel a minority is more representative of a "true" democracy (because of the need for compromise).

It'll really be interesting to see which way the West goes, since Alberta just went NDP, where they've generally gone Conservative.

I wanted a minority. But nope.

Combating Putin? Allowing everyone to legally smoke pot?

Legalizing marijuana has broad support from the population, not just in Canada. The Liberal platform does not allow "everyone" to legally smoke pot, but it does allow adults to legally smoke pot. Still illegal for kids, as it is now, and that has been ever so effective, hasn't it?

  • Legalization of marijuana is decades overdue.

If the NDP had enough seats a minority might not be too bad, but if the Cons had enugh seats that would kind of give us the same kind of shit that the US gets when they have a Dem Senate and a Rep Congress, or vice versa. Just a lot of nothing bullshit. If the NDP got enough seats it could be a lot smoother since they and the libs aren't at such odds.
CTV's declared a Liberal majority, so I guess they'll be "efficient," lol. At least I got good-looking X-Files and Star Wars trailers today, lol.
Well, I mean "efficient" in relative terms, lol... Isn't everything relative to a a very low bar in politics? I just assume it!
Glad it looks to be a majority, but still sad thst the NDP seem to be doing so badly.

I admit my crystal ball was wrong but I certainly hoped this was not the result if I was wrong.
  • CBC projects a majority.

So, umm, the Greens are leading in one riding. Wonder which one? :smirk:

Yay! They need to be in there. Always root for them in the couple of ridings where it's a possibility..... That thing with the Victoria liberal was kinda weird, eh?

And as an aside, our riding actually had a Libertarian candidate running. She is 19, and was out of the country on vacation throughout much of the run up to the election  . So far it appears she is at 0.0% of the votes.

My riding has a Libertarian too.... it's not really registering in the numbers here either, lol.
