Girardi is not getting fired regardless even if the start they get off to a slow start and he is also a much better manager than mattingly. The Yankees have over performed these last few years, the dodgers have under performed.

I like mattingly as much as the next guy, well no one likes mattingly as much as igotid, but it makes no sense to hope your team loses to hire a mediocre to average coach

Also, it is a testament to Mattingly as a manager that Ethier thought it was okay to go ape shit on his manager during an elimination game. Can't see that ever happening with Girardi.

Well it's true Girardi almost missed the playoffs this year and was still not in danger of losing his job. But I beg to differ about the Yankees over performing. They have better players than the Dodgers overall.
Stop, dude. This year the Yanks played very well for a majority of the season, but the last couple years their run differential indicated they had no business being in the position they were.

Listen, I think the Dodgers stink. I'm not defending their roster. How a team has a $300 million payroll and Justin Turner batting clean up is beyond me, but you can't point to one thing Mattingly does well. He is so so in game and it doesn't seem like his players in general care for him too much. Say what you will about Girardi but there was an article on Grantland that pegged him as one of the best bullpen managers and how many PR, blow ups have you seen with the Yankees, with the largest press following them? Everything is in house. I think it would be idiotic to blow things up simply for nostalgic reasons. If you can give me something that Mattingly will do better than Girardi sure, but the Yankees aren't in the nostalgia game when it comes to on field performance (outside of Jeter these past few years)
It's not about who's better or worse. My point was how can someone have their team in the playoffs 3 years in a row be considered the worse manager?

Joe Torre was a laughing stock now he's a legend. Also I've seen Girardi mismanage the bullpen many times. Especially the last 2 months of this season

Scored some tickets yesterday for game4 in Toronto....whooooohoooo, 1st time back in the skydome in 20 yrs, jacked to be going

good for you, black. have fun!

that place has a retractable roof, right? was surprised it wasn't open for the day ALDS games. do they close it to make the place louder?

if you see geddy lee, give him my regards.
it is retrackable, but I believe MLB has the actual say if its open or close for playoffs. During the season its up to the Jays if they want to open or close
they won't open the roof unless it's at least 15 degrees celsius outside ... affects the mechanicals

I'm watching some eye candy on MLB, but I think I'd rather see ugly dudes. You know, someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

Just a few years ago, if you predicted these four teams would be left they would have locked you in the loony bin.

bob ryan of the boston globe (who's been covering baseball for like 100 years) says mattingly will not even get another job.

Most teams now want managers they can control.

I'm thinking Marlins Man snags a cheap seat and offers a wad of cash to someone in the front row, once he's in.

Nami I don't like your prediction of early homer, I'm going with 3 up 3 down scenario
