  Wow. I love R.E.M. (would pick them over Springsteen), but that vid really highlights how much stronger Springsteen's voice is compared to Stipe's.

  I'm not a big fan of either (not not a fan, just not a big fan ) but I prefer Stipe's voice on this.
  
  Coincidentally, just heard Patti do it "a capella" in Boston this past weekend. I love her so so much. I can't find a version that has the intro, but she pretty much says that anytime she sings about it, she thinks about her husband Fred Sonic Smith and to her, he will always be her boyfriend. Aww..
