I've just been reading an article from The Independent newspaper, here in the UK, - an interview with Glen Hansard, in which he talks about his friendship with Eddie Vedder. He describes how a young man fell to his death at one of his concerts. Eddie read about it and telephoned him to see if he (Glen) was ok. They spoke for an hour each night for a week and became friends, subsequently working together. Glen said "He's a beautiful soul, Eddie, really deep. He's helped me."

    They collaborate well together in music. I really enjoyed seeing Glen open for Ed.
