I thought it was ok. Was kind of a slow start, but picked up toward the end. I'll stick with it, for sure.

I enjoyed it, have to figure it will be slow as the real outbreak is just starting in the first episode. I'm hoping they will show what it will be like once zombies are everywhere in LA and the city is just falling apart. Previews make it seem like it will get crazy.

Agreed. If they go too fast it will just be the same show only set in LA.

    I liked it.

I really enjoyed it. I like the aspect of seeing how society reacts when the outbreak first starts. I thought the actor who plays the son with the drug problem was great. Too bad this 1st season is only 6 episodes.

He channeled a lot of Heath Ledger's Joker, I thought!

I really like how it shows the dead as almost invincible. They are so easily killed anymore in the original.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

That's because they know to go for the head in the original ;)

So far I think it's great! I liked the slow build. It helped develop the characters and the family dynamics. I think its interesting to watch this thing spread. A few people figured something strange was going on, some had heard about a virus, but most just went about their days normally. The shit is about to hit the fan and this thing is going to spread rapidly. The zombies are people they know, and they are not just rotting corpses. The hospital definitely knows something is up, the way they immediately moved the old man downstairs to the morgue as soon as he flatlined. Can't wait for next episode.

Thought it was pretty cool as well.
The son reminds me more of a young Johnny Depp than Heath Ledger.
    Daughter was kinda cute too....

Good point on Johnny Depp, you're right. His acting after he got out of the hospital was where I was comparing him to Ledger's Joker.

enjoyed the first two episodes, but i still don't think we are going to get the full story as to what caused the outbreak. so far, we know people get sick and turn into walkers (simply die from the illness and reanimate). but what is this illness? where did it come from? why are some contracting such a severe case that they die from it to come back as a walker, and what is causing others to walk around completely unaffected?

i know it's only two episodes and i think the first season will have a total of six episodes (?) so maybe there might be more answers to follow. and while it's cool to see the mayhem unfold, i am more interested in where the actually illness came from. who was patient zero?

also, while LA still has electricity, would be nice to see some news clips of all hell breaking loose in other countries. give it more of a global perspective.

I think the creators have said the cause will never be revealed (that isn't meant to read = they have a backstory and aren't telling us).

Yeah, I think Kirkman has said he does not plan to get into the reason behind the outbreak
