After hearing you guys discuss this band on the earlier threads I decided to look them up and (force myself to) watch some of their concert videos on YouTube.

Holy fuck they are horrendous. It's a dogshit lead singer that repeats the same inaudible non-sense for like 12 minute songs, and some drummer that runs around the stage screaming 'We are X'! to a bunch of lemmings that repeat it back to him.

Am I missing something here, or is that pretty much what this band is?

If PJ loses to whatever the hell X Japan is I have officially lost my faith in humanity,

Tool would've been easier. Maiden fucking kills it!

And when the power for sound went out at MSG during "Powerslave" -- well, fancy some footy?

I grew up loving Maiden. I'm a history buff and the lyrics to the Powerslave album, number of the beast, somewhere in time, etc., have always resonated with me. They were one of my first REAL concerts, seeing them in 1986 or something. I think Ace Frehley opened. It was jaw dropping. That being said, it is kind of 'kennel' rock as some would call it, with a very repetitious rhythm guitar. Lyrics are still fantastic, but don't love the music like I did in my youth.

    PJ for sure.

Cool cover by the best band to come out of Australia (they disbanded awhile back).

Probably because X Japan's fans are all tools.

Doesn't PJ play an Iron Maiden cover song or something? Or at least tease it maybe?

I'm racking my brain here, but I KNOW that on one of the MSG bootlegs from like 02 or 03 I can specifically remember hearing Eddie say something about them and hearing Mike or Stone play the first few chords of one of their songs.

    Anyone? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?

Stockholm 2000. Maiden was playing a show The following (or previous) night and were watching the show. They were leaving during the encore and Eddie had the audience say "goodbye Maiden". Then Mike played the riff from Number of the Beast.

Ha, that's actually not what I was thinking, but you jogged my memory.

Same riff, but it was when Eddie was telling the MSG crowd after Do The Evolution that the crew just informed them that they are only 3rd or 4th band that ever made the stage shake at MSG. Think he told everyone it was them, Iron Maiden, and Bruce, or something to which they replied with the good ol' 'Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce'.....
