Happy 20th Anniversary to the second of the two nights at the Milwaukee Summerfest. This is a great show start to finish. Mike actually ended up in the hospital after this show suffering from dehydration and exhaustion. Eddie with The Frogs is awesome. Check out YouTube for the footage of it. The unofficial bootleg I have for this show is called "Milwaukee The Second Evening.
07/09/95 - Summerfest: Marcus Amphitheater: Milwaukee, WI [120m]
attendance: 24,000
support act : The Frogs and Bad Religion
set: I Only Play for Money (EV w/ The Frogs), Act of Love, Go, Last Exit, Spin the Black Circle, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Not for You, Why Go, Jeremy (original, teaser), Deep, Daughter/Improv (This is How I Feel)/(Release)/(ABitW-II), Jeremy (new), Rearviewmirror, Elderly Woman, Lukin, Animal, Dissident, Even Flow, Black, Alive, Blood
enc: Star Boy, Little Wing/Maggot Brain, Better Man, Porch
notes: If a show could have been any different (and better!) than the previous night, this was it. Ed surprises the audience by joining the Frogs' set for 'I Only Play for Money.' Dressed in a Beatles-type wig, sunglasses and shiny silver jacket, he is not recognizable until he begins to sing. In return, Jimmy of the Frogs accompanies Ed in the acoustic encore 'Star Boy.' A surprising opening song, 'Act of Love,' is extremely hard and driven. Lots of long jams that really show off Mike's ability. For the encore, Chad Smith (RHCP's drummer) joins PJ and a fascinating version of the Hendrix classic, 'Little Wing.' They jam for about eight minutes, mutating into 'Maggot Brain,' a funkadelic song from the 70s penned by Eddie Hazel. Mike's guitarwork leaves the crowd (and the rest of the band apparently) awestruck. It was later reported that Mike was hospitalized after the two Milwaukee shows due to dehydration and exhaustion.

Though I still kick myself for not going to Lollapalooza in '92 to see them, THIS show was my first PJ show and still one of my favorites so in honor of 20 years I made new DVD art.

My first show as well! I can't believe it's been 20 years. Hey monkeewrench send me that DVD!!! Love the artwork on the case as well. I'm going to listen to the show today at work.Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.0

Happy Anniversary coco butter!
Anyone else who share today as the 20th anniversary of their FIRST PJ show???0 -
My story about this day goes like this: My buddy and I bought scalped bleacher tickets from TicketKing for $50.00/each. The show was a massive sell out. Anyway, we went with a few friends down to Summerfest and hung out for the day. Being 17 at the time and unable to drink really sucks if you're at Summerfest for a whole day. An hour or so before the show, 102.1 was having a raffle for tickets to the show at their radio booth and thousands were trying to win the remaining tickets. I didn't care as I already had tickets to the show but go figure, I won row 2 for the show! My buddy and I gave our extra tickets to our friends who didn't have tickets and 50 plus shows later as they say... the rest is Pearl Jam history. Happy 20th Milwaukee! One of the best days of my life!Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.0

As you'll see from the 10C order form below (top half only) we fan club members were only allowed to buy two tickets for the '95 shows. I ended up taking a future ex-girlfriend who was an equally huge PJ fan. We spent part of the first night listening in as much as possible just outside Marcus Amphitheater because getting tix was impossible, especially when the little money I had then was earmarked for beer and as I'd come to find out also for bootleg t-shirts that seemed to be sold for anywhere from $5 to $20 on every corner outside the Summerfest grounds. I still have all but one of those bootleg t-shirts (it disintegrated in the wash, literally) and also my (official) Mr. Point shirt. I was able to smuggle in a disposable camera and managed to get a few decent shots, a couple are below. And to the guy I met way back when who's name I've long since forgotten but we exchanged our pictures via snail mail - thank you, whomever you are, I still have them.
Also, there was guy there who had a few really cool PJ tats. I'll include a picture of him below - anyone know who this character is? Is he here on this forum??
(no idea what that # was for)
