While I agree about the garbage - I'm horrified that you had that experience in NYC. I've always found that, so long as you respect their pace (for example, when walking across the street - walk beside them if you need to ask for the time), they're good people. I find Torontonians just aren't consistent. Some are so happy and laid back, others are absolute jerks. Though I must admit - I'm not crazy about Steamwhistle's beer! Mill St.'s Tankhouse Ale is a favourite for Toronto microbreweries.
