It's always tease, tease, tease
You're happy when I'm on my knees
One day it's fine and next it's black
So if you want me off your back
Well, come on and let me know
Should I stay or should I go?ELITIST FUK0 -

That and catching up on some tv. Or you could read a good book!

I will definitely be watching the NHL Playoffs this weekend, but I need to get out of my apartment for most of the day to maintain my sanity haha. Sad how little respect Irish people have for our language. A report today claims that it's dying out in the Gaeltacht areas (areas populated by native speakers where it has traditionally been the first language) and there are people actually saying that this is good news and that it's a waste of time anyway. The ignorance and complete lack of respect for our culture and heritage is thoroughly depressing :(

This makes me very sad. I have always loved the sound of Gaelic ( I believe that is what the language is called correct?) and thought it would be awesome to learn it. ( I made myself learn Latin when I was 13-16 cause I wanted to know the deeper meanings of OUR language) . But I'm a weirdo like that too! Just really sad.jennycoyle said:Sad how little respect Irish people have for our language. Never too late to learn you know, lots of places to learn it in America! Irish is still spoken throughout Ireland but it's worrying that the Gaeltacht areas are shrinking

I saw a thing on NY1 that one of the youth soccer leagues in an Irish American community is now getting Gaelic (I swear thats what they call it. I don't doubt that it's actually Gaeilge) lessons from the community center or whatever.jennycoyle said:

http://www.newyorkirishcenter.org/events_item.cfm?itemid=50754&catid=14443We've always known the Americans call it Gaelic, so we don't really mind, easy to confuse it with Scots Gaelic

There are only two people in my life who I actively dislike (both involved in badminton). It's in my nature to think the best of everyone and at the same time to want everyone to like me. This one girl, though, she's in my badminton club and is thus very hard to avoid. We've had several run-ins in the past as she seemed to just take an instant dislike to me pretty much from the first time we met. I don't exactly know why but I think we are similar in some ways and clash as a result. The difference between us though is that I will do anything to avoid conflict and will always look to appease even when I should stand up for myself. In contrast, she seems to thrive on conflict and on intimidating others. She shows one face to those she likes and wants to like her but you never know when she's going to turn on you and snap your head off. I'm so uncomfortable around her and feel like I'm constantly walking on eggshells waiting for her to turn on me again. I'm alienated in the club now because I avoid her, which pretty much means avoiding my clubmates as well. So I end up being the black sheep and looking like the one with issues. Being near her just makes me feel like crap though, so I feel I have no choice but to avoid her.
Anyhoo, I just needed to vent! As you were....0 -

I cant help but wonder if I'm being punished for requesting that this be done early. I was informed of "extenuating circumstances" which caused a delay but I cannot shake the suspicion that because I explicitly requested that this be started early in the evening, it's instead going to be started extraordinarily late, and left unfinished for god knows how long. Also can't bring myself to overlook the fact that this delay is extending suspiciously close to the store's closing time.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15
