odd game last night, nobody can win at home or what?
gotta say theres some good hockey going on in both seriesHamilton 9-13-05; Toronto 5-9-06, Toronto 8-21-09, Toronto 9-12-11, Hamilton 9-15-11....0 -
Let's go rangers0
-
Wow, we get a game 7 on Friday and Saturday nights. Fun stuff, hoping for OT both nights. (Truly as long as Anaheim loses I am happy with how any of the other games go down.)
Go Rangers, Go Hawks. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
"Go Rangers, Go Hawks"... are you an NBC executive? We know that's what they want.0

Please no overtime! Watching your team in a game 7 is bad enough. Game 7 overtime is just too much. Should be a fun weekend of hockey.F Me In The Brain said:Wow, we get a game 7 on Friday and Saturday nights. Fun stuff, hoping for OT both nights. gotta give the Rangers and Hawks credit, they just refused to get knocked out. how many times can the Rangers come back in a series and how many game 7s can they win in a row (it's like 7 now isn't it?). should be two great games this weekend.0

haha, no I just hate the Ducks and dont really care for the Bolts. (Although they will be my team to root for if they end up vs/ the Ducks)mrussel1 said:"Go Rangers, Go Hawks"... are you an NBC executive? We know that's what they want.

Ha! After last post-season my heart can go through anything. I do feel for the fans every time an elimination game goes to OT though, I know how painful it can be.Indifference71 said:

I actually find playoff baseball much more stressful than hockey or any other sport. Mostly because when you are in the field, NOTHING good can happen. The best thing is that you don't give up a run but that's what you expect anyway. Can't be a turnover, a giveaway, a great defense stuff. And since baseball has so much time to build between pitches, it makes it a thousand times worse. It's like you are on the powerkill for half the game.F Me In The Brain said:

Interesting I have never looked at it that way but I can see your points. For Hockey it can be such a sudden thing that you really are on the edge of your seat. I think back to those great Devils teams in the 90s and how those bastards would take a shelling and break out of their zone, score and win the game. You can whale away on someone for 20 mins in OT and then the puck bounces the wrong way and you lose in an odd man rush down the ice in 7 seconds.mrussel1 said:

Chicago runs on Duncan! If we make it to the finals, regardless of who we play or who hoists the Cup, Duncan Keith has a damn good argument for the Conn Smythe trophy. He's always been our TOI guy, and now that we're down to basically 4 1/2 defensemen, he's logging even more minutes. Factor in all the OT games, too. And to come out and play a game like he did last night with our backs against the wall is what leaders are made of. The fact we've even made it to a game 7 in the WCF, in the position we're in, is testament to his leadership. That's why he dons the 'A' on his sweater. Dude's a beast!Post edited by HesCalledDyer onStar Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

We'll see what happens tomorrow. Rangers have been decent with him. Ever since Hayes shoved him around, he doesn't have that extra jump. Tomorrow could be and should be a crazy game.mrussel1 said:

The real Marty has lost a few steps this year. He has not been impactful. I think the Bolts got the better of the trade. You guys ended up with our Boyle and Marty. We got your Boyle and Cally.0
-
Although I will say the Rangers are built to win right this moment, whereas the Lightning have a pretty big window, so long as they lock up guys.0

Rangers win the cup this year, they end up with the better trade. Couldn't afford callys $6/per year. And not for nothing, give your "new" Boyle sometime, he'll wear on you too. Waste of size, basically a pussy for his size. Could be sooooo damn good if only he finds that "thing" he's missing. Tomorrow's gonna be insane. And as long as the rangers have Hank, they should be contenders, they'll find ways to retool and make some runs.mrussel1 said:Although I will say the Rangers are built to win right this moment, whereas the Lightning have a pretty big window, so long as they lock up guys.

Boyle is soft for 6'7", I will agree there. Zdeno Chara, he is not. All the talk is that Cally has been a good leader in the locker room. Finally scored too. Remember Marty and Stevie Y had a falling out related to Team Canada. I was quite upset at the time as he might be one of my all time favorite players. But the years are showing.0

I think Tampa wins tonight. Rangers have to lose a game 7 at some point, right?0
-
I think it is safe to say that trade helped everyone involved. Teams and players.
People get too hung up in trying to declare a winner in trades sometimes.
