What's the point?

There’s a pool I hardly use
there are dresses in the closet I haven’t worn yet
there is a bicycle that needs some action!
what am I doing?
I need to use the nice things I have
I need to appreciate the good in my life
what about the china that is dusty in the cabinet?
what about the walks I’ve yet to take?
What about the gym I pay for?
why have I allowed myself to get bigger?
I have a good shape and a good face
why don’t I wear my make-up these days?
(depression is no excuse!)
excuses are just lame
and what about all the music and things I’ve made?
Do I use them?
Do I remember to play them for anyone?
do I practice enough for our concerts?!
(I'm lucky to have a good partner)
what about the summers I get to have?
Do I have fun with my toys?!
There’s that multitrack recorder I bought
(it was expensive)
there’s my gorgeous yard full of flowers!
am I putting them in vases?!
and what about all the clothes I’ve made that are beautiful?
do I wear them?
what about all the music I’ve bought?
do I remember to listen to it?
I should go swimming tonight.
there’s no point in having anything
there’s no point
if I don’t use it
and I don’t enjoy it
I might as well be without everything if
I don’t use it!

    Kill two birds with one stone. Water exercise. I hear you. I feel like life's passing me by,And I'm doing nothing to change things.To many thoughts at once can cloud your vision,And leave you with nothing but anxiety. I feel like I've been in a ten year slump.And that's way to many years to be stuck in a rutt. I'm slowly starting to turn things around,But that's ten years I'll never get back.Baby Steps. and before you know it,Leaps and bounds.

    Thanks for reading this. Every summer feels like I've awoken from a foggy dream. The last five years I've been working so much during the school year (because I have to prepare lesson plans at night, grade papers and teach piano on the weekends) that I can't even think. So, once the school year ends it's like I'm free to look around and notice my life. It's an odd sensation!

    I hope my new job in Ohio is not as time-consuming and as low-paying as this one in Florida has been. I was working full-time hours for half-time pay here. It was bad!!!!!

    Man! Sorry to hear that. Teachers are the Soldiers of Education. You fight the good fight,to educate our children right,And receive very little acknowledgement, or pay equivalent to your service. God Bless the Teacher.

    I like this one. It reminds me of EV song "Society' and the anthem it has become for me. I have been selling many of the items in my life that do little but collect dust (on Kijiji). As well, I dusted off my old bike and went for a spin the other day. Nice work justam.
    I remember when, yeah. I swore I knew everything, oh yeah.

    Just now doing this too, and SOBER! Lol I drank away 20 good years..and I'm just now learning how to start over! Only I have nothing left, so now I'm learning to weigh out wether not I need things before I buy them.

    And Justam, I love this!! This reminds me that I will always have my poetry and my art wherever o go!
