Just had GA tickets in my cart (TINY section at the front) and released them. I'll be seeing Tame Impala with my girlfriend at Massey Hall for $60 instead of Prince for $270. Such is life!

I couldn't resist the GA Pit tix. Seeing Prince this up close, plus the fact he will be playing more guitar than any other previous tours made this a no brainer for me. I was totally going to get last minute tix for Tame Impala, but seeing Prince in this stripped down band could not be passed up. Hell maybe I can talk the wife into doing both shows tonight. Tame Impala should be done by 10:30 - 10:45 and Prince goes on at 11:10... hmmmm.

I was toying with it but it's date night, and I'm already treating her to dinner at Ruth's Chris and Tame Impala. It'll be a great evening with or without Prince :)

Dinner at Ruth's Chris and an evening of entertainment at Massey Hall is always a great date.

Two great shows last night. Tons of fun. First show was like a proper concert, performance wise and setlist wise. Second show was just like a massive party. My wife and her friend were up on stage dancing with prince during the second show. First show was 2 hours second show was 1 hour 45. I'll likely never make eye contact with Prince again nor ever be that close again. Prince was in great spirits and was laughing and making funny faces all night. It was a blast

I quickly snapped this pic as soon as the first show ended so i could remember how close i was....was actually pretty close to this spot for the second show as well.

I know all about those problems... Just got GA Pit for Prince in Montreal tomorrow night. The show on Tuesday was such a blast, my wife and I couldn't resist pulling the trigger for Montreal. We also have GA tix to 2 U2 shows in Montreal, Dave Matthews in Toronto and Montreal, and VIP tix to both shows for The Who in Toronto. Yep, it sure hurts wallet.

Front row prince....awesome. Any long funk jams?

The show I attended in Toronto was more of rock show with Prince playing lots of guitar and guitar solos. They brought the funk, but no long funk jams. Montreal however, was an entirely different beast. The first half of the Montreal show was hard rock. The second half of the show was an epic funk jam, with a 4 piece horn section, that was not present in Toronto. The show was 2hrs 31min, and Prince's voice was amazing compared to Toronto. Not that his voice was bad in TO, it just wasn't blowing me away the way it did in Montreal. Another great thing about the Montreal show was he hardly used the sampler. I think he spent 5 or 6 min on the sampler, which meant more actual playing from the purple one. All in all, I would say the show in Montreal was a perfect Prince experience. I was a casual fan at best, but after these two shows, I'm hooked.
