I agree that just giving them free membership/automatic renewal would be cheap and easy.

  • Free membership?

    Bleh

Send them a free sticker, and have them fill out a survey on their thoughts of the ticket lottery.
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
  • Regarding the lotto...people will complain no matter what. They turned backs during songs like Even Flow and Alive and the band realized that something had to change to get "new faces" up front.

2003 - I put a postcard in the mail for a chance to get tickets.
2010 - A lot of people were pressing F5. Some won tickets, many did not.
2014 - A week to enter a lotto. And yes, lower numbers still get seat priority. (Now, I wouldn't be opposed to having a 10C early entry where members and their guests could enter into a blind draw about an hour before doors. Line up, get a number. If your number is drawn, you and your buddy go first. If your number is one lower than the one drawn, you go in last. Everyone with a pit who doesn't want part of this system can cheerfully enter when doors open.)

Dare I say that 2003 and 2010 were a "lotto" in the true sense of the word? Many enter, few win?

Now...what they COULD do is send the annual singles out by member number so that lower numbers get mailed first. That might add some benefit to having lower numbers.

    Everyone has autorenewal.

Now...what they *could* do is after, say, 10 years of consecutive membership, offer a $5 "early bird renewal" discount. If you renew during your 12th month of membership, you save $5. Not much, but it is something, right?

I just meant free auto renewal for as long as 10C is around.

I don't know why anyone would care about $5 one way or the other. Seems like more trouble than it would be worth.

  • I think I should get 5% off my federal income tax for being in the highest tax bracket and "renewing my membership" in socialist democracy for 20 years... But it isn't going to happen.

I'd settle for a southbound pachyderm

I like the idea of free membership at 20 years, but at some point in the next few years the majority of the club will be in that range. So it's probably not going to happen for financial reasons.

You will get the same thing that the person who joins a week before the next tour announcement gets. If you try for GA seating, that same person may get seats and u may not. If you both get them, if that person gets to the venue before you, they will be closer to the stage. For those of us 20+ years..our day has come and gone. Oh and you will also be told that PJ shows pre lottery/GA were dead around the stage lol.

Wow. This is my 20th year as well...I hadn't even realized.

Thank you 10Club. It has truly been my pleasure. From winning my first ticket for Voters for Choice in 95 to 20 years and about 70 shows and countless unforgetable memories later.
I truly love coming home to anything from the 10Club. Thanks for all you do.

Having said that...a 20 year member patch would be SIIIICK. Id even be happy to pay for it. ;)
