    Top 4 you left off in terms of era defining
    1. Hackers, Mallrats, Empire Records & Tank Girl - seriously how could leave these ones off, they were the voice of a declining generation.
    2. Jumanji - nothing more needs to be said
    3. Clueless - not the best movie but it definitely defined an era
    4. Billy Madison - the beginning of the Adam Sandler movement, which peaked with Happy Gilmore, but still this was the one that started it all.
    Anything you lose from being honest
    You never really had to begin with.

    Braveheart is my dads favorite movie ever. Honestly I'd say 94 was a better year than 95 for flicks.

    "Mallrats" is funny as shit and I love it for what it is, but it's hardly era-defining.

    I just saw "Jumanji" for the first time last Friday. What the hell took me so long?

    Not sure about era defining, but yesterday in a conversation with a co-worker, Apollo 13, Heat, Toy Story and Casino were all brought up. Maybe the OP is on to something.

    i know dazed and Confused came out in '93, i think Shawshank came out in '94 (still great movies though)

    The Usual Suspects was 1995. Such a great movie! Best of that year IMHO, as good as Braveheart is.
    12 Monkeys was 1995 as well. So good.
    Also Leaving Las Vegas and The Bridges of Madison Country - both fantastic films.

    Oh, and don't forget about Waterworld. =))
