The live boot's from Melbourne and Seattle '98 are also pretty damn good.. I'm glad a few soundboards leaked in the days before official boots.
yup. Seattle sounds really good but a little thin. Melbourne sounds amazing...and has, in my mind, the hands down best version of Immortality they have ever played. I do not say that lightly.

Oceans in East Rutherford. Still the only time I got it. Ed talking about the McGwire/Sosa chase and McGwire broke the record as the boys brought a Ping pong table out to the stage.
Hard to Imagine in Camden
In 98 there was a good chance you were going to hear Brain of J which is always a good thing.
My favorite thing about the Yield Tour (1998) is that it was! I got to see 3 shows- Phoenix, Camden/Philly & W. Palm Beach :x The band was up- happy & energetic, and, drumroll, please, I actually met Ed during the break- Thanksgiving Eve in Phoenix to be exact- remember they did the west coast, took a break and did the east coast? Hovercraft played The Mason Jar in Phx and I drove up from Tucson- soooo awesome- we didn't "meet- meet", we bumped into each other and he excused himself- it was the highlight of 1998 for me! 8-> Plus they added a final show at W. Palm Beach, during Hurricane Georges- so awesome remembering- we drove through 4 hours of rain from Bradenton to W Palm Beach-that was an amazing tour! =D> and of course Live on Two Legs- like Ledbetterman10 said earlier...

So cool how many people's 1st show was Camden 1 '98! My first show was '93, seen them about 57 times up to '13, and this Camden 1 remains my personal favorite PJ show ever.
1st off, if I remember correctly, they hadn't played Philly/Camden in like 5 yrs, do I have that right? So knowing that right there, the energy both in the audience and on the stage was through the roof. A blissful reunion! But before PJ took the stage, during Mudhoney out of the corner of my eye I thought I caught sight of Ed going from the stage into the audience and sitting down. It was still pretty sparse up there but people definitely noticed and started to crowd around. I stayed put but did walk over when I saw him walking up the aisle. Hard to explain what I said and why I said it, but it had to do with Mia Zapata and the Gits. There were simultaneously tons of people yelling "EDDIE!!!" in his ear so even though he asked me to repeat what I said 3 times, I finally gave up and just wished him a great show as I realized he would never hear it.
Mudhoney was great, Iggy even greater, me and my row danced our butts off. I would have been happy with the day just to hear a 4 hour version of "Lust for Life" and a 2 hour "I Wanna Be Your Dog". Then it was PJ time, and yeah the energy was just out of this world. Setlist speaks for itself. Although I have definitely seen more "epic" PJ shows (like MSG2 a few days later), I feel like I had more fun during this show than almost any other PJ show ever.

Fast forward to the middle of 1st encore, they played several songs (including snippets of Philadelphia Freedom, Sweet Home Alabama (wtf?? LOL!), and Hard to Imagine!), then played Go, and then during the break Ed said (probably not exact quote but pretty close)... "Earlier today I was sitting down there... over there... and a young woman came up to me and... well... you know who you are. And so... you know what this song means. Everyone else, this song is called "Leaving Here". We hope you enjoy it." Now, I've got quite a few shows overall under my lifetime belt... seen some astonishingly amazing bands and been deliriously happy to be there. But that moment of realizing that what I said to him, he did hear it, and having him recognize it that way, that was one of my biggest "gurgling puddle of fandom" moments I've ever had! Not to mention... I have always loved their version of "Leaving Here" and it was so awesome to hear it!
What was amazing about the show and the day did not end there, and I also met some of the nicest fellow fans and just lovely Philadelphians (and Camdenians?). All around one of my top memories ever of enjoying a pre-show, show, and post-show.
And, ok, this is going ot sound really random but another memory I swear I have from either this or Philly 2 was - is it possible that Guns and Roses was touring either in the years right before this or this year, and women being up on someone's shoulders and flashing their boobs for the big screens (which were probably just starting to be used at amphitheaters around then)? I just have this really clear memory of either Camden '98 or Camden '00 and seeing a woman at a PJ show flashing her boobs and everyone cheering and cracking up and thinking "Oh no... oh no... is PJ really attracting the GNR crowd now???" (not that GNR weren't talented, but you understand my point!) So yeah, that also stands out about '98 as first boobs I witnessed at a PJ show.

At the W.Palm Beach show the girls in front of me were flashing their "girls" too! Which made the night for the guy who took me to the show cos he was not a fan at all- so we were both happy! )

Letkeman wrote it, but yes I did tell her the story and it was in her mag. Did I say the part about thinking Ed thought I was just yelling "Chicken! Chicken!" at him the whole time? That is the part that mortified me at first, but set me into giggles every time after.
I haven't seen her in ages, does she still do a paper mag (I know she does twofeetthick.com but not sure what else)? Edited to add: You helped me jjust remember that this was the show I met her at for the 1st time. I think I gave her and some of her friends a ride after Camden 2, but maybe I just gave her friends rides... anyway, like I said, lots of great people there!

1998 was my first time seeing them---September 16th, Mansfield. To say that the show was a life-changer for me is completely honest and true. Matt Cameron's jaw-dropping drumming inspired me to start playing and I am drumming to this day. Thanks, Matt.
Went to the sacramento show. My only show i hit on the tour. The crowd was pretty rude to X, PJ started out blistering with Spin the Black Circle, Hail Hail and Brain of J, or something close to that... And I remember just being blown away. Also, for whatever reason they hadn't played Porch in quite some time, and they busted it out and i remember just being so pumped. The other thing that really sticks out to me was i think it was the first time they played In My Tree with Matt. And it was good. Not that version they started playing all the time, but the regular version.... Really great show. Also, seeing the Setlist after with Baba O'Riley not played was a heart breaker..... at the time i wondered if I would ever get to see that song covered by them..... ha..

My favorite thing about the '98 tour was the fact one of the Upstaging truck drivers thought it would be cool to pick up a poster at each of the concerts during a single leg of the tour as a keepsake. Fast forward 10 years or so later, he's retired in Nevada and decides to sell them for the extra cash and I pick them up for $75 each.
To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."
