    What amazes me the most is that the Fox News devotees are convinced that WE are the ones that are dumbed down. THEY are on top because they watch the "Fair and Balanced" network....oh and their ratings are the highest so it must be truth.

    It's true but a couple things to note...

    1. The biggest demographic tuning to Fox are old white people that are dying off. Younger people tend to get their news elsewhere.
    2. Since Fox is the only true "voice" for idiocy you almost have to combine all of the other networks ratings together. Of course Fox viewers will flock to Fox because Fox tells them the other networks aren't "fair and balanced."

    That being said I consider Shepard Smith to be fairly objective. I think the only reason he is still around is because he must have threatened to spill dirt or something. His news is fairly balanced....it's just the remaining programming that is insane.

    Fox devotees really are hard-core, that's for sure. But as Drowned Out pointed out else where in response to my assertion that all major network news are only different on the surface, it would be great to see more people reading/viewing independent media online.
