Aren't humans the only living thing on earth that kills for fun? Animals kill for survival but us humans kill for fun. The earth seems to have a balance amongst it in the wild kingdom, then you add the human element and the earth goes crazy. Not so much balance anymore. Makes me think we're Martians and put on earth for some reason. Maybe it's just too early to be thinking about space. Lol

My cat kills moths for fun all the time. She loves it. Never eats them. Just tortures them until they're dead. I think she is at her happiest when she is snuggling with me or torturing a moth to death. :))
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

And what about when they kill a mouse and bring it as a 'gift'? Ours are indoors cats all the way but I've heard about those who are at least partially outdoor types doing this. Seems more about vanity and, what, reaching out, than killing in order to survive or establish territory.

Anyway...UFO's are just that, no? Shit flying around yet to be identified.

That said, the idea of life beyond our pebble isn't that far-fetched.

My cat is happiest when I rough house with her a bit, especially when she gets the upper hand- I mean, paw- and moves quickly enough to scratch me. You'd think I would learn not to play this game anymore but she is an alien with the power to put me in a trance and obey her every command. Oh, how I love that evil alien beast! :))

Haha...I've learned after many scratches - KEEP THE HANDS AWAY WHEN PLAYING. They just attach them to the game.

It's amazing the hijinx that a foil ball tied to the end of a shoelace can provide. Both ours go nuts.

My husband also does the "running away game" with Beans. She prances after him and gently attacks his ankles with her paws.

When I try it, she goes in for major damage.

I have decided it's best for me to abandon the chasing game and go the shoelace path.

    Win-win!

Good plan, H., must try that!

The last time Annie and I "played" I tried to get her attention with a long strip of paper- something she usually goes after- but she seemed not notice the paper so I lowered it with my hand... just... a tiny... bit... AND, WOSH! AHH... FOOLED AGAIN! I must face the truth- I am not as smart as the cat. (More band aids, please. 8-} )
