Right. But doesn't the Pats still do the 80's throwback unis since that rule went into effect?JK_Livin said:There is some type of rule about the helmet that is holding it up. Right now they'd have to wear the midnight helmet with kelly unis.

how difficult is it to make a 2nd helmet with the same safety standards?
if/when they can do the kelly alternate---hopefully that is a stepping stone to a permanent change. the bills did something similar, if i'm not mistaken. now they have one of the coolest uni's in all of sports. the midnight green and black is so late 90'swww.myspace.com0 -
I overheard Les Bowen talking to Smolenski at practice the other day and they were talking about not just the uniforms would have to change but all the scenery in midnight green as well. They just did stadium upgrades that have midnight green all over. Not an easy switch. Sure I'd like it but they have to look at the big picture. The Juggler said:how difficult is it to make a 2nd helmet with the same safety standards?

I think this is going to be one of the more intriguing seasons for the Eagles in a long time. was last year fluke where so many things went right or was it the start of a really good to great run? still lots of questions whether it could go either way. sometimes an unexpected big season can give a franchise a boost that carries them into a great run (see eagles 2000, phils 2007) but just as often ends up being just a fluke (see redskins 2012 to 2013). so many questions to be answered. is nick foles a legitimate top flight NFL qb who can lead this team to years of victories and playoff wins or was last year a case of right place right time? can the offense still be high quality without their best deep threat and 82 catch receiver? can said receiver be replaced with a guy with a bulky knee and rookies and/or can the offense be tweaked enough to still be effective without him? can McCoy remain healthy at a position that careers average just 3 years? can an aging but effective offensive line stay healthy once again? if not can, in what seems like a weakness, can the backups play effectively enough? does the 1st place schedule vs. last year's last place schedule make a difference? was the defense really better and good enough to make a run or was it a by product of bad teams and backup qbs in the 2nd half of the season last year? obviously all those questions above will lead to where this season and possibly the next few end up but I really can see a scenario this year where the Birds could go anywhere from 6-10/7-9 to 11-5/12-4. I'm not sure I'd be surprised by either scenario. it really hasn't been like this since 2000-2001 for the Eagles. very intriguing and interesting to see where this is headed.
PS: put me on the contrary list but not a fan of the Kelly Green uniforms at all. not a fan of the color. prefer darker colors. think the kelly green look like ugly women's pajamas.0 -

what a great read... and chip is such a smart fucking dude. but in reality, the author is right--the philosophy is pretty simple--exploit the defense's weakness at a tempo that makes it difficult for them to adjust to.JK_Livin said:
I can't wait till this team has all the right pieces and puts everything together (i'm guessing that will/should next year). hopefully the rest of the league still hasn't caught up to them by that point.Post edited by The Juggler onwww.myspace.com0 -
they do this for every team, obviously....but this is fucking hilarious--especially the part about passing 25 times in the 2nd half of the colts game, which they blew a 28 point lead and lost

good to see the obsession continues. was it funny when Chip lost as a home favorite in the playoffs last year? The Juggler said:they do this for every team, obviously....but this is fucking hilarious--especially the part about passing 25 times in the 2nd half of the colts game, which they blew a 28 point lead and lost

Juggler are we allowed to judge Chip this year? i know last year you said we couldn't because it was year one but just wondering what you say the protocol is this year.

obsession? the guy coached here for a decade and a half. human nature is to still follow his career after he leaves (unless you're not a big football fan, I guess)...it's just like with any other ex iconic philly athlete/coach (ie: barkely, cunningham, buddy, reggie white, larry brown, etc etc etc). the fact that he blew a 28 point lead in a playoff game for much of the same reasons that drew such criticisms here is just delicious irony, which I love. thank god he is not running this organization anymore...
and you absolutely could have judged the chipper last year. I never said that. however, reasonable people have reasonable expectations. and he exceeded all reasonable expectations last year by a country mile. now it's time to build off of that.

agree that Chip exceeded expectations last year. was a happy surprise. it's why i said above how intriguing this season is going to be. going to be very interesting for sure.

i was one of the biggest reid fans around, on par with you and fixer, up to a point....but after so many years of mediocre/stubborn football and doing stupid things like promoting the offensive line coach to coordinate the defense, the luster of andy reid wore off pretty quickly for me.pjhawks said:
