Creative Technology provided the video equipment for the European leg of Pearl Jam’s international tour. Until this tour, Pearl Jam has never toured with cameras and screens. Creative Technology provided IMAG Screens with two projection screens utilising 21K Panasonic projectors. Four Sony HXC 100 Cameras were also provided; one at front of house, two on track and dolly and one handheld on stage. In addition, HD mini cams with fisheye lenses were used onstage in various locations providing a vignette optical effect. Controlled via a Kayak 2ME Desk / HD Production system, all cameras were recorded for each show using the Blackmagic hyperdeck system.

More details from Creative Technology (http://uk.ct-group.com)

To support their tenth album, American rock band Pearl Jam has taken to the road for their international tour Lightning Bolt.

Working with Video Director Blue Leach for Pearl Jam Inc. Creative Technology (CT) provided the video equipment to complement Blue’s visual directing for the twelve date European leg of Pearl Jam’s international tour. Until this tour, Pearl Jam has never toured with cameras and screens, however Blue quickly established a creative connection with the band after warm up shows in London, Ontario and Wrigley Field in Chicago last July (2013).

Renowned for having a streamlined stage presence and historically performing with no video support until now, the superb live photography element captured Pearl Jam’s explosive stage performance which featured predominantly black and white camera shots.

To visually enhance the shows CT provided IMAG Screens with, for the arena shows, two projection screens utilising 21K Panasonic projectors to deliver the photographic displays at either side of the stage. Four Sony HXC 100 Cameras were also provided; one at front of house, two on track and dolly and one handheld on stage.

In addition CT built HD mini cams with fisheye lenses that were used onstage in various locations providing a vignette optical effect. Controlled via a Kayak 2ME Desk / HD Production system, all cameras were recorded for each show, totaling eleven HD ISO Records, utilising the impressive Blackmagic hyperdeck system.

Outlasting and outselling many of their contemporaries of the 90s, Pearl Jam was one of the key bands that heralded the grunge and alternative rock movement and has lead to them being considered one of the most influential bands of that decade. Still going strong in 2014, the band’s sell out Lightning Bolt tour reached Europe in June for their twelve night European leg and has received critical acclaim for their latest album and supporting tour.

It would be sweet to see the first complete "official" Pearl Jam show released on Blu-ray. And what better way then to release one of these show's, or a compilation, from their Euro '14 tour.

No more compilations - complete shows, please!

exactly..complete shows just like boots...they have been doing this for the entire lightning bolt tour and the edited feed at the show would be all that is needed....you all think they don't want to do this because ppl may be less inclined to see a show if they can purchase it on blu ray?

They shoulda been pumping out Blues feeds to the world like Phish had been for the last couple tours. $15 for HD stream, with on demand access. I'm not much of a phish fan, but love their attitude towards their fans and technology.

http://livephish.com/ , they offer A LOT of live digital goodies. HD & SD webcast feeds are sweet. Their CD's are $23 bucks a little higher then what Pearl Jam sells them at. $16.98. Their MP3, Flac & Flac-HD prices are pretty much the same.

We are not even there yet with live Pearl Jam radio broadcasts / web streams to even advance to HD video streams. Pearl Jam broadcasted many of their 1995 show's on the local radio stations via Monkeywrench Radio. Present day the band has a 24/7 dedicated channel on SiriusXM for the past few year's now. It blows my mind we haven't yet had a live Pearl Jam concert on the radio since SiriusXM & TenClub radio were born.

I'm sure if we started a petition, there would be a high demand of fan's wanting live HD concert streams of Pearl Jam's shows. Who would gladly pay to see their band at work in the comfort of their living rooms. Sign me up!!!

No one would force you to buy them. Or watch them.

I could see releasing one show or doing one webcast. I can't understand wanting to spend time watching a webcast for multiple shows or watching DVD's of multiple different shows from a tour. I know what the band looks like. Music is for the ears.

    + a million

I spent my entire youth thinking about Led Zeppelin, not watching them on a fucking four inch phone screen.
An officially released 10club Blu-Ray/DVD for this tours highlights with band interviews and what not would be amazing, they certainly have the footage. I'd buy that.

That's funny! CT (Creative Technologies) is the name of the uni department I'm in. For a moment, I was like :open_mouth:! By the way, I would love to see my face in a PJ DVD (first row at MK).

I wish Ed would wear a go pro

For one show, all of them wearing one and the resulting video would be pretty cool.

I would love to see this. At least try for one song. If they could do this and upload it to YouTube for all to see. They could put up all 6 go pro videos or just upload one video all edited in.
