    Weird...

Tour Announcement doesn't explicitly state "An Evening With..."
    http://pearljam.com/news/0/1/22334/pearl_jam_fall_2014_us_tour

    Neither does XCel's website:
    http://www.xcelenergycenter.com/events/detail/pearl-jam

    Jam's webpage does:
    http://jamusa.com/events/pearl-jam/

    And so do the tickets....

...Tom Petty is only booked up through October 10th!

POS should be the special guest.

I would prefer no opening band, ESPECIALLY NO Tom Petty. Seeing his boney ass take up PJ's stage time in 2006 still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

POS should be the special guest.

that would be "dope", as the kids say. you know he'll be there anyway, might as well do something together.

Ha, I did a double take and thought you meant P.O.D. That would be terrible.

I've been instructed to make a separate thread for the preparty. Probably easier than having Vant change the title again AND have to write up all the party info. Most party info will go there, although some info I will post in both.

    Any objections?

    Two things

    1) Petty is awesome. Seeing PJ open for him was incredible.
    2) I literally ran into POS at the Petty/PJ in 06. After I realized it was him, I yelled "you're ruining my life!" As he walked away. He glanced back. I figured he knew what I meant and I was "down."

i thought the pj/petty double bill was sweet, too. first time seeing petty so that was a plus and made the short pj set more tolerable. only drawback was the similar petty set each night, but i knew it would be that way going in. we did get 'it's good to be king' one of the nights, which was all i was really hoping for. give me that song every fucking time.

Tom Petty is the first and only concert I have been thrown out of. From what I remember it was pretty awesome. The show, not getting the boot.

With that out of the way, I really hope there is no opening act.

Numerology: words whose letters add up to 95
    AIR FIRE WATER EARTH:
    (1 + 9 + 9) + (6 + 9 + 9 + 5) + (5 + 1 + 2 + 5 + 9) + (5 + 1 + 9 + 2 + 8) = 19 + 29 + 22 + 25 = 95

    ETERNAL ENLIGHTENMENT:
    (5 + 2 + 5 + 9 + 5 + 1 + 3) + (5 + 5 + 3 + 9 + 7 + 8 + 2 + 5 + 5 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 2) = 30 + 65 = 95
