I would leave the day before Detroit. You are going to be exhausted.

Thanks for the advice ... Little things like this will definitely help me. I'm sure plenty of you have done PJ road trips before.

Plus you're going to want to stop to eat, stretch and go to the bathroom. And with a trip that long you are bound to go through construction zones. 9 hours will be more like 11.

I cut a show close once - Boston 2004. I always give myself plenty of time since.

My original plan was to leave at 6 in the morning. Stop at 12 for lunch/ stretching. Head back on the road around 1 fir remaining trip. I'll now leave Wednesday to give myself enough time. Thanks again.

NY all the way to Moline is one hell of a road trip my friend. Good for you - you won't forget it!

Really looking forward to first getting my feet wet in Lincoln, and then the next week with the Moline / St. Paul / Milwaukee run. I've got a couple of buddies flying in to Des Moines the Thursday before Moline, and then road tripping from Des Moines onto Moline thru Milwaukee. It's gonna be a fucking fantastic October.

Definitely leave the day before, especially if you've never road tripped before. 7 hours would be a crazy long first day of road tripping ever.

The longest I've done in one day was 12.5 hours from New Jersey to Michigan and I was delirious by the end, hahaha!

My road-trip for this tour is Northern VA just outside of DC to Memphis for 2 days, then up to Detroit, stop in to see the family in Michigan the day after the show, then driving back home. I am giving myself 2 days to get to Memphis(maybe spending the night in Nashville) and I have 2 days to get to Detroit after Memphis. I am also renting a car to do this as I don't want to put all of this on my car(and I will be beating the shit out o the rental as any red blooded 'Merican would do). Estimated at 2,284 miles and $270 in gas :-\"

I'm with you, didn't want to put the 4,750 miles on my personal car,
so I rented a car too...got a pretty good rate thru Avis!!
