The Vines

I'll probably get ridiculed for this, but I think The Vines are outstanding. Their new album is released in N.A. this Tuesday, it's called Melodia. It's not my favorite record by them, but it's not bad. Anyway, I just feel like this band gets more bashing than it deserves. Craig has had plenty of mental issues, but regardless, they make good music.

If you've only heard their singles (Get Free, Outtathaway, Ride, etc.), you're really missing out. 1969, Mary Jane, Autumn Shade (I, II, and now III), Rainfall, and Sun Child are all great songs IMO.

    Excellent band, any doubters need to listen to Spaceship. It is one of the most immense songs I have heard this decade. Vision Valley was my favorite record from them though it was too short.

    I just came home to my Melodia CD in the mail! Woo-hoo! I can't wait to check it.

    By the way, for anyone interested, all US distribution is being handled by Insound.com...they offered up an exclusive bonus track for pre-orders (which is an ok song)...not sure if they're still offering it, but that's where you can buy the album at a NON-IMPORT PRICE.

    Unless something changes soon, it will not be in stores in North America...there is no distribution. This is according to DTI, which is The Vines official fanclub.

    Is that the singer in the pic? If so he looks like a completely different person... anyone know how many of them are the same as back in ____ (2008?) when they first broke? I saw them with Jet opening, unfortunately for the Vines it was just as Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" or whatever it's called was blowing up so most people were really there to see Jet by the time I saw the tour. But the Vines were still really good too...

    that's actually a video, not a pic (just click on it). He's actually wearing a BRMC shirt :) It's pretty much all new guys, just Craig is still there. all the others are new. I also saw them and JET in the Australia tour. I think Living End was in that tour as well. Here's another song from them.
