    Yes benjs, his overall message is for peace. But the question posed for years was why hasn't pearl jam played in Israel. Well, there's your answer. I highly doubt that anyone here is waiting to hear what Ed has to say on any particular issue before coming up with their own opinion.

    No Ben, he made it crystal clear where he stands. When he screamed about tax money funding their bombs and them going across borders and stealing/taking land, pretty clear. And when you have a thread about pearl jam playing Israel, then it does matter where he stands.

    i wonder when people in the media will start calling Ed and anti semite. you know that that is coming. like a clock, whenever anyone is critical of the policies of the israeli government they always get called an anti semite. what will people around here do when that happens to Ed and the band?

    you know, if he speaks out again, people are going to challenge him to clarify his remarks, and either double down or walk them back. that is exactly how american journalism works today.

    I don't think Ed is an anti-semite. I just thinks he's anti-war. Also possibly a bit misinformed, but I know Byrnzie and others would disagree on that one. If you ask most Israelis, we all really just want peace and an end to the bloodshed. It's sad that the band is going to punish the fans for the failures of the politicians on both sides.

    that is refreshing to read Johnnie. most times, especially on here and facebook forums, the go to defense of criticism of the israeli government is to label someone an anti semite.

    unfortunately, the politicians do things, and it reflects on every single one of us. they represent us. when they wage war, they do it in our name. when they execute someone, they do it in our name. when they impose sanctions, they do it in our name. they rarely do the right thing, rather, they do the expedient thing. and that is where the problem is. politicians look out for themselves in order to remain in power.

    Exactly! Guy tours what, maybe an average of 1 month a year. Has plenty of time to read and gain knowledge on this matter. For all we know, he mite know more then all of us. So because he doesn't agree with Zionism and "your" side, makes him mis-informed? I highly doubt it.

    I remember a long time ago there was someone that used to post on here named triumphant angel, I believe got banned years back, was big on Rachel corrie. I hope they saw this, actually Ed finally put his name on this conflict. I know back then it was mentioned how awesome it would be if Ed was to ever call them out. Well, besides the time Ed said why do we pay Israel 3 billion dollars a year? Any ways, hope u guys seen this.

    Neil young has cancelled his show in tel aviv. Unfortunately, he didn't speak out, only citing security reasons. Still good news.

    As much as I feel sorry for the Israeli fans who don't get to see Pearl Jam because of the behaviour of their government, I can't help but feel the guys in Gaza, The West Bank and Palestine generally have bigger problems than crying on Facebook because a band won't play for them.

    Well of course the Bloodshed is sad...We all want Peace and an end to this Conflict...But it's a bit Hard though to Judge whether he's misinformed or Not.

    Very true Pablo, Palestinians want fresh water, food, and shelter. I think they can careless if pearl jam play a show in gaza for them.
