Just back from the concert, havent read all the thread but here are some notes.
The band were in such a good mood tonight, lots of laughing and joking
stone singing was great, then tried to get jeff to sing a few times and Ed got the crowd going with 'fernando'.
ed explained why he had been wearin the same 34 jersey most of the tour, unfortunately his uncle passed away and that was what he was wearing when he passed. This then linked to the petition on the board to play man of the hour.
fatal was another request for someones 30th show, little slip up at the end but they saved it
all or none was another great treat
ghost, those opening chords were rocking
very long singalong outros on sirens (with improv) and black
All in all, a fantastic show

Best gig of my life. So happy right now. Man of the Hour killed me.

I don't like the song, have only listened to it like two times...still made me cry...Eddie just absolutely killed it, the sheer humanity, for lack of a better word, was mind-blowing!!

  • Thanks Dimi and the relayers. I was happy when Tremor Christ was played and they just kept bringing it. I don't know how anyone could complain about this show.

Leeds. The Who. Live at Leeds. Dammit, we should've seen this coming. ;)

Oh, and on paper, I'll absolutely echo those of you saying it's the best Pearl Jam setlist of all-time. I don't usually say things like that, but in this case I think it's warranted. Holy mother of God.

That one....will be tough to be topped ladies nad gentlemen. I hope to God they save some juice for the US tour and come proper.

Just wanted to compliment you on your bootleg review site (at least I think it's yours (and your friends)). It's pretty great and thorough. Supercool, and maybe the coolest thing, is that for the most you rate the shows on how they play, and not whether or not they played rare songs and what have you.

I'm 99% sure I saw Ed get a Wrigley banner.

I'm not ready to talk about this show yet though.

Now that's one full on show right there! No holding back, love it.
I personally think it's impossible to claim any one show as the greatest PJ set of all time, there's just too many strong ones, but this is another gem for sure.

Oh, and btw, WWS was not played.

It is funny but adding WWS would bring the setlist down. Never liked that song.

Wow. Just wow. Gonna have to purchase this boot. "Rarest" set of the Euro tour for sure... rarest set EVER??? You be the judge.

Just stuck the times played for each song into Excel and some stats as follows. Not sure how they stack up to other gigs. That is an absolutely epic job.

Number of times a song has been played
    < 10 times - 1 (Fatal, 6 times)
    10 - 20 times - 5
    20-50 times - 10
    50-100 times - 4

So 20 songs with less than 100 live plays although that's probably fairly common with an album every couple of years..

Average times a song has been played - 190

Taking out live staples Alive, Even Flow and Black, ave times a sgon has been played - 148

Also take out Porch - 137

    Ten rarest from last night:
    Fatal 6
    Don't Gimme No Lip 11
    All Along The Watchtower 12
    Push Me, Pull Me 13
    All Or None 13
    Ghost 17
    Pendulum 23
    Setting Forth 26
    Army Reserve 28
    The Real Me 39
