Oslo didn't deserve Strangest Tribe

PJ plays a lot of shows. They bust out songs all over the place, and you can't possibly go to every show to catch them all. I've seen my share of crazy rarities, and I've missed several along the way. I am jealous of Strangest Tribe, but what can you do? Saying Oslo didn't deserve it is just sour grapes. Get over it.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"0 -
What's all the fuss about? The song isn't that good anyway. I doubt it gets played live again.0

It will get played again for sure.London Bridge said:What's all the fuss about? The song isn't that good anyway. I doubt it gets played live again.

The show was amazing! Must have-bootleg for sure! They're apparently recording everything from the big screens this tour, so I'm hoping for "official" video bootlegs!mcgruff10 said:Seems like pearl jam, the guys actually playing the music and making up the set list, thought Oslo deserved it. Maybe blame stone?

Let's not act as if there's a huge reaction to other really rare songs. Even if there is big 10c turnout a song like Strangest Tribe is never gonna get a huge reaction. Not everybody follows every setlist and even if they did, it's not a song for everybody.
Comparing it to Leash is pretty off base. People that don't even know that song are gonna get drawn in just from the high energy nature.
I saw Bee Girl in Boston and there wasn't some huge reaction, so maybe PJ should quit playing rare songs there.Post edited by DewieCox on0 -
I thought it got the best reaction tbh, the boot is going to sounds so good without all the whooping and shit that drowns out a lot of their other acoustic performances...it seemed to fit perfectly with the Viking history of Oslo too.Nature drunk and High0

And when they played Undone in Boston back in 2010, much of the crowd looked around wondering what song was playing.Foriginal Sin said:Has nothing to do with that. When they busted out Leash again in 2006 in Boston, the crowd went bonkers before Eddie sang the first verse. This Oslo crowd had no clue what the song was, let alone hearing it live for the 1st time ever. Boo.
Leash is a bad comparison. While it may have become rare, it was still on their second album which was released at the height of their popularity. The number of people familiar with Strangest Tribe is not comparable to the number of people familiar with Leash.
Good for Oslo. They did deserve it.___________________________________________

I think there was a similar thread or posts in the fanviews after they played Hitchhiker for the first time in Manchester II '12 - people sat at home behind their keyboard going "look the crowd is dead, they don't even know the song" etc. Jealousy is a terrible thing.DewieCox said:Let's not act as if there's a huge reaction to other really rare songs. To even suggest that one town deserves one song over another town is pretty sad in my opinion. I thought it was really cool that they would play this and played it in Oslo. I would have loved to have seen it and am happy for those that got to see it and experience what looks like an amazing show. Why can't we celebrate that as a community of Pearl Jam fans instead of acting like they should have played it somewhere else? C'mon0

did i see 'Merica somewhere in this thread? or did i dream that...First: ATL2 04/03/1994
