There are some seriously powerful shows from the Europe 2000 tour. Song after song, set after set just top notch.

Philadelphia 10/21/13 (my first PJ show) and Seattle 12/06/13 (my second show).

Philly has a fairly diverse set with some of my favorite PJ songs (Brain of J, I Got Id, Leash, Animal) but also has great covers (I Believe in Miracles, Crazy Mary, Sonic Reducer). Mike and Boom during Crazy Mary is mind-shattering.

Seattle doesn't have a very diverse setlist but is FULL of hits. Every time I listen to it I wish I was back there again. It does have Let Me Sleep (flawlessly!!) and Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns in the city where it all started. Even cooler than that, Mark Arm comes on during the 2nd encore to play Kick Out the Jams. Most energetic show I have found so far.

P.S. Sorry for the long comment. I'm new to posting.

    Chicago '00

Played on my 21st birthday, I had a blast that day but alas not in Chicago!

A raw Release opens up, the intro extended. Throughout it's a haunting performance. Good performances of Corduroy and Grievance. Ed then briefly talks about the previous nights show - 'The Ice Bowl' show - before they rip through God's Dice and Animal; the former is spot on, especially the intro which doesn't seem to happen too often when they have played it over recent years. Red Mosquito is sumptuous. A little further down the set, In Hiding and Light Years are a delight. The trio of MFC, Lukin/Not For You is pure quality. The 'Man Trilogy' of Betterman, Leatherman and Nothingman is sublime; the latter absolute perfection. Black is the same. Parting Ways makes it's 2nd appearance of the tour and is a great way to end a great main set.

The first encore opens with a beautiful Sleight Of Hand and continues with Soldier Of Love - which makes it's final appearance of the Binaural Tour. It's weird to hear Crazy Mary without Boom or keys but it's still good. The big hitters of Jeremy and Rearviewmirror close out the first encore.

Ed comes out again and briefly talks about a Ralph Nadal rally which is to happen the following day. He then plays Soon Forget. Early on, Ed loses his way with the crowd clapping - "rich people can't keep time either" he quips. Ed completes the rest of the song without any problems. The rest of the band return to the stage and finish the show with Baba O'Riley.

It's easy to see why this was one of the bootlegs selected by the band for the Ape/Man series.

    Torino 2006
The Go opener is amongst the best I've heard. Mike adds some interesting effects and Ed's vocals are quite strong. Even Matt too, just putting on an exceptional showing on the classic opener. Corduroy follows, the crowd eats it up. Towards the end of the solo, Mike and Matt are flat out on! That leads energetically into Animal where Ed's raspy vocals soar and Jeff's grooves shine. A solid Small Town calms us before we lead into the true heart of this main set. All this was a warmup.

As many know, this gig was made popular due to the band playing Avocado in its entirety, in proper track list order, and uninterrupted. Life Wasted is absolutely brilliant. The whole band is near perfection. Mike and Jeff are exceptionally good. WWS comes on hard after that, sounding ferocious. Comatose is a good version, Mike and Stone sound quite great with this mix. Severed Hand is tight but mostly an average play. Marker, however, is awesome and much better than many other versions. Parachutes is sublime, and Unemployable here is one of the better versions out there. Big Wave gets the live energy vibe back up. The ending of the song feels a bit more subdued than the usual fiery jam but it's still solid. Ed's vocals sound rich and warm for the verses in Gone, especially when complimented by Mike's atmospheric sounds. Wasted Reprise-Army Reserve is a smooth transition. Army is top notch, Ed's aggressive choruses sound just right. Come Back feels incredibly heartfelt and so sincere. Mikes solo captured me more than usual and Ed's vocals again are powerful. A great Inside Job brings the Avocado section to a close. The main set doesn't end there, the boys rip into DTE to get us going again. Matt adds a few different patterns and fills, excellent stuff. RVM is solid (a very small lyrical error by Ed but doesn't distract). The jam on RVM is very potent and impressive, Mike especially. That concludes the awesome main set.

Jeremy starts encore 1 with Ed and Matt putting on raw energy. Lukin-Betterman always feels weird to me. Black is a powerful take, the tags are especially nice. Not to mention the crowd's impressive singing after the band quits playing. Tremor Christ is a welcomed treat. While it's not as good as version in San Diego 2013, it's still one of the better versions out there. It's a tight performance but a little too fast. Alive ends the first encore. Blood then initiates the second encore, Ed's vocals sound like they are laced with nails. It's damn glorious. Even Flow makes a late show appearance to good effect. It's better to get it out of the mid main set. Matt's drumming on Baba sounds thunderous, good mixing. An elegant Indifference concludes the gig.

There are times where I would just rather listen to this performance than the studio version of Avocado. The band’s performance of the album in its entirely is impressive and a really tight showing. The emotions and energy from Avocado come alive when played in a live setting, and this boot captures that sense very well. Furthermore, there are several other highlights to the gig other than the Avocado section. Torino is a fantastic bootleg, and an essential one from 2006 in my opinion.

Listened to Phoenix 2013 during my 45 minute run. When I was done running I realized I wasn't even a third of the way done with the show. Lol. Kick ass set
