Young PJ Fans

Yes that's what I think too, I actually like mixed crowds the best, the PJ crowd was the most passionate crowd I've ever been in, so this is in no way a complaint or something, haha. I've been in crowds consisting of teenagers only, and I wouldn't prefer that (Once I got so crushed that I almost couldn't breathe anymore)PJ_Soul said:
Great to see some younger people in the fan club (like under 26... and hopefully above 10). I don't like being surrounded by just middle aged people at concerts, lol. Crowds with a good mix of young energy are more fun!
It's just nice to see there are also people at my age who really like PJ, since with my friends I've made the experience that they're not really interested
And it's also good to know that people who've been fans for a long time and therefore are "older" like it when younger fans are around too

Yes, same here. I decided to travel to Leeds to see another show now, that's something I wouldn't have expected at all, but seeing all those people traveling around, enjoying PJ shows really makes you wanna join in on thatEchosNobodyHears said:I'm 25 and Cincy this fall will make 24 shows. Not sure if I would be considered "young" for this thread, but I'm definitely young considering the age range of PJ fans.
I've only seen 5 shows in my own state and have now been to 3 other countries. I've gone much further (in terms of both # of shows and the distances I've traveled) than I ever thought I would when I saw my first show, which was coincidentally 6 years ago tonight.
Glad to see that fans much younger than me are still getting into the band and travelling to see shows.
Okay, so I'm not alone with being a little younger than most PJ fansmsmi76 said:Just 20 years here, 21 next month. Been to just 3 shows but will soon be to more!

When I saw how many people under 20 still listen to real music, I got hope again.
Last week I said I'll be in Vienna for a few shows. Then a few 16-17 years old kids asked me what I'm going to see. I told them Eric Clapton and Pearl Jam. They just answered "aah so nothing people know."
I was shocked, how can you never have heard of Clapton or Pearl Jam?
I haven't met anyone under 20 around here (where I live) who's interested in music.
Haha this sounds like I'm an old man, but I'm only 25.15.08.09 Berlin, 04.07.12 Berlin, 05.07.12 Berlin, 25.06.14 Vienna0

Well it is… difficult sometimes.. I listen to a lot of classic rock and it happened quite often that I had to explain to someone at my age who Jim Morrison was or that John Lennon is not alive anymore. That were extreme cases though, I guess. Some of my friends do know Pearl Jam but they wouldn't go to a concert.. But well that's why concerts and the 10club are really great, you can meet lots of new people 0 0

We can meet up next time Pearl Jam comes to Europe
 I'm a 10c member, but I didn't figure out how it works with being in 10c and concerts. I couldn't catch a 10c-Vienna-Ticket.15.08.09 Berlin, 04.07.12 Berlin, 05.07.12 Berlin, 25.06.14 Vienna0

            Yeah that'd be really nice!
I got a a spare one from another member for Vienna, that was really awesome. I'm going to Leeds on the 8th, I hope it will be just as awesome as the Vienna show 0 0

Pearl Jam can never disappoint! I'm really envious.
There are only some visitors (not fans!) who can ruin shows by filming the whole damn thing with their cellphones and you see nothing but blue screens.15.08.09 Berlin, 04.07.12 Berlin, 05.07.12 Berlin, 25.06.14 Vienna0

21 here, 8 shows, soon to be 11 after Leeds, Milton Keynes, and Detroit. Been on these crazy boards since I was about 16...
PJ has helped shape me as an individual and in general have helped me immensely throughout the past 6 years. Can honestly say I don't know where I'd be without them!"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

sigh. I'm too old for this thread. I was 23 the first time I saw PJ but I was really into them when Jeremy came out, though I was too young to understand it. I am happy to see younger people in the audience at shows, it tends to restore a bit of faith in humanity.
 I was a show last year that was mostly teenagers so I hung around the back. It was Awolnation in Atlantic City. Definitely a different type of energy than you get a PJ show with the GA crowd in their 30s-50s, mostly.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15
