Caffeine levels in green tea are pretty low. The OP article suggests that the side effects are from the caffeine.

So, the revelation from this Q&A is that you can become overcaffeinated if large quantities are ingested?

    Oh my!

I take green tea every day as an additional pick me up. Works like a charm.

My daughter was only drinking three cups a day and was wondering why she got heart palpitations so there are anxiety as well and thats not an alarming amount, anyway I thought it would be useful information for drinkers..

Decaf green tea is out there.

Was she having heart palps aside from the tea, and that exacerbated it? I mean, three cups of anything caffeinated would have an effect, I think, especially if someone is sensitive to it (as I am).

    Moderation!

    (and occasional excess when warranted)

Speaking of caffeine- when I say I drink French Roast people often say, "Too much caffeine!" The truth is, the darker the roast, the less the caffeine. Speaking of French Roast... sniff sniff... mmmm!

That is why I like to have my tea with whiskey. You have to live your life in balance.

    1 Tablespoon honey
    1/4 lemon
    1 cup hot water
    1 tea bag

I drink approx 3-6 cups of green tea a day (I may skip a day or two every few weeks)
Add a little Lemon Juice and Raw Honey...Perfection!

I don't know if this is true for everyone but I've been drinking more green tea than usual lately and I've noticed that it seems to give me a headache.

I'm going to stop drinking it and go back to regular iced tea instead!

For me, Green Tea does not give me heart palpitations. But I know a few people who can't take Green Tea, my brother in law started drinking green tea after living with me for a couple of months...It made him quite sick, apparently is had something to do with the way his body treated Vitamin K.

I have another friend who says that green tea keeps him up at night.

For me, it's relaxing, most of the time I drink tea I'm sitting on the ground cross legged taking deep breaths. Truly relaxing.

I know Green Tea has thinned my blood quite a bit, something I found out during a surgery :)
