Release The Studio Outtakes

We all know they are out there. Remember just before Lightning Bolt was released we got a taste with "Cold Confession" and "Let It Ride" Why can't we hear the rest of these unpolished gems? I think a huge box set is in order (and I'm being serious). They literally have a crapload of songs from each recording session that don't make the album. Why not cash in on them like they do with all these reissues and bootlegs? They say they want to make all their music available to fans, and I'm all for it (I own every bootleg they have put out since 2000), so why not "really" release "everything"?

They could probably make a 3 or 4 disc box set, maybe throw in a DVD of some show we've haven't seen, or dare I say "vinyl"? But let's be realistic, fans like me would go bananas over this. It worked for Nirvana when they release "With The Lights Out". So why not try it? We've heard all the demos of songs already on the 10 albums, but what about what we haven't heard from these 10 albums?

I would kill for a studio version of "Falling Down" or "Of the Earth" and they do exist according to this page. http://www.pearljamonline.it/rs.htm

This would be a perfect release during the next 3 years between now and a new album. Hopefully someone from the PJ camp will see this and really, actually, possibly read this. This is a serious fan who has paid, and is willing to pay top dollar for anything PJ.

Hopefully more people are with me on this.

It is kinda weird we haven't seen a single Bside since (other than Ole). Why not at least throw us one in some format? Even if it's not a huge box set (which I'm all for) I wish they'd release a couple new tracks here and there as a bside on a 7" or like they did for Ole as a download. I'm sure there are many others like me that would buy it!

I'm guessing they are saving them up for a Lost Dogs Part 2. What was the last album that had bsides? Riot Act? That means we might only have unreleased bsides for Avacodo, Backspacer, and Lightning Bolt.... Maybe they have enough for a whole album of unreleased songs now?

They might still have gem's left from the 90s too. I was blown away when reading PJ20 and that they did a canned version of Baba O' Riley. That's got to come out some day.....

Either way I'm guessing they are waiting for Lost Dogs 2. Look at other classic bands. Bands that have long ago broken up. Many of them still release unreleased stuff. I guess you have to hold on to some for a rainy day.

Also, don't forget Pendulum was originally a Backspacer song, so it seems they tend to go back to songs that may not work at first and then find they like them later on for albums.

true, and I think it was maybe Brendan O'Brien that stated the band doesn't in fact have a lot of proper studio outtakes that are releasable. That is highly plausible for a band that spends very little time together outside of official band business. They aren't spending time on tour buses writing Daughter/Brother anymore. But I'm guessing they have enough for at least a single rarities album, if not more. And they had (or wanted) to use a recycled Uke song for Lightning Bolt.

It's never enough for Pearl Jam fans! For better or worse!

yeah, when I re-read PJ20, I couldn't believe what I read, that they recorded Baba that long ago and has yet to see the light of day. I started a thread about it, I couldn't believe no one else had mentioned/questioned it before. I'm not a huge Who fan, but I love PJ's take on songs, whether I like the original or not. I'd love to hear that one.
