UPS Mail Innovations Fail

I ordered the coke bottle vinyl reissue of Ten. It's being shipped to my address in Washington, DC. Take a look at how UPS Mail Innovations has decided to get it from WA state to DC... Already missed the delivery date by 3 days, and it's in California. Fantastic.

Thanks for that--I couldn't find it. I understand UPSMI is (allegedly) the most environmentally friendly way to ship. But they get me so frustrated that I want to go chop down some trees, so I think that cancels it out.

Yeah, its the worst, I can't see how it is more environmentally friendly, it spends more time in trucks burning gas around the country over the 3+ weeks or so to arrive than it would in the 3 days to arrive via priority mail. There is no way anyone with any knowledge of logistics came up with this program. They must give huge discounts to companies to use it.

What you don't know is some poor dude is driving your vinyl cross country on an electric scooter. Its why it is only able to move 1 city a day.

Mine is taking the same path, it seems like an insane way to ship a package across the country.

But just for your information, the delivery date is just when Mail Innovations turns the package over to the USPS. You can look at the new delivery confirmation number at the USPS website to check the actual delivery to your door date.

I work in the logistics industry, and this system makes zero sense. I can move an auto engine from Flint, MI to Minneapolis to Omaha, NE in about 17 hours, but to mail a record almost 2 weeks now. Maybe if this was the 70s as in the 1870s :-?

Very good times! Vault #3 travelled 8,000 miles to get to me in about a months time. I wish I was as well travelled!

This whole thing is flipping insane. I just mailed something today that will arrive in florida tomorrow in less than 20 hours for less than $20. I paid half this much for something I can't even track that will take weeks. God help USPSif this is left on my steps while its raining :D

    Wind this thing up.

Yeah, the only thing I hate about this system is not knowing the exact date it will arrive. As oysterjar said, I don't want this sitting on my porch in the rain...or direct sunlight even....for the entire day while I am at work. I don't care if it takes 3 weeks, as long as I know what day it is, im ok with that.
