I got tix to see 311 with my friends next week. Everyone is so excited about it, Im just like ehh. Am I missing something with this band? Ive been to a decent amount of concerts to know whats good, and I dont think this will be anything special. I really dont care for their music either, its pretty childish. "we are 311! lets do the hydroponic!"

ANyone here like them? Am I actually in for a great show?

    Their first 4 albums are amazing: Music, Grassroots, 311(Blue Album), Transistor.

    If you have a chance, listen to "Use Of Time" from Transistor, sounds a lot like Inside Job. ;)

    Music is my favorite of theirs:Visit, Paradise, My Stoney Baby, Nix Hex, Do You Right, just some of the goos tracks of that album.

    their past few albums i just couldn't get into, last 311 album i really liked was Evolver. Don't Tread On ME was ok, but not great. Uplifter was pretty good, Universal Pulse I had high hopes for after hearing the first single, but the album was way too short and the songs weren't that good.

    Their old stuff is freakin unreal. Still a really good time live though... You will have a good time for sure.

    I saw 311 back in 2009. It was a festival and they played right before Korn (headliners) on main stage . 311 was amazing live. You are in for a great show, even though I got a greatest hits setlist minus the radio hit from Uplifter that they were promoting at the time. I would go see them again, it's a solid show. In terms of albums I would suggest blue album, transistor but greatest hits isn't a bad starting point if you want to just check them out. I think the live show, will make you appreciative them more musically. I'd love to see them again, just haven't been able too since I last did.

    I used to love them in the mid-90's. They lost me after Transistor, but back then the shows were great (1x Grassroots tour, 2x blue album tour, 1x Transistor tour).

    new album is out (officially out on Tuesday). not too bad i guess, better than their last album. no songs are really standing out so far though.

    I saw them 2 out of the last 3 summers, once with Sublime with Rome, once with Slightly Stoopid. It's a good time, basically everyone is smoking and drinking.
