I'm a Cd guy and you?

  • Just orders a Sony 5 Disc changer.
  • I try to stick with physical copies for the most part. I just appreciate having a tangible object more. Better sound quality is a plus too.
  • I sometimes feel like a dinosaur, but I still greatly appreciate CD's.
Have different albums in my hand, sliding with my finger past the albums seeing which one I will pick.
And the art work, lyrics, liner notes are a great added bonus which you don't get with a download.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

I usually look for something on vinyl first. If it doesn't come with a download, depending on how bad I'd love to listen to the album on wax, I'll still buy the vinyl. Otherwise, I'll pick it up in CD. I'll buy a CD, also, when I know it's an album I'll mostly listen to in my car and not something I'd put on the turntable at home. I rarely only buy a download unless it only comes that way, which usually ends up being local music.

CD for sure, although now I'm starting to get into vinyl a bit. I got tired of burning cds from iTunes purchases for use in my truck o or home stereo and have the order of the tracks get all jacked up.

CD's. But I do buy digital downloads only for Pearl Jam's live 24 Bit Flac-HD releases. Kinda wished PJ sold their 24 Bit Flac-HD's on physical DVD-Audio discs. It would be pretty sweet!

CDs always for me. I'm kind of old fashioned, and I love having the physical copy for the collection. Not to mention, they look great up on the shelf.

Definitely cd! If one is thrifty enough (like myself) you can get the physical copy of a cd used on amazon for half the price of a digital download of full album. You then have something for iTunes AND you have something for your shelf (or to maybe hock/trade down the line.) I don't get digital downloads except possibly bootlegs, or a rare song here and there.

I just experienced this for the first time yesterday:
I went looking but apparently there's no cd option for the Frances Ha movie soundtrack. So I believe I have to get it digitally. That's the future...

I guess I will be the first to accept the changing of the guard. I will take digital. Storage of Cd's is not always easy or very nice looking, depending on your set up, I use apple TV a lot to stream my music from iTunes to many different rooms in my house. I also have a car stereo that has great navigation with my iPod. Sound quality is no different from cd and a high quality download. I have a iPod classic solely for my Pearl Jam collection. so i can take my 15,000 song PJ collection with me everywhere and it takes up the same amount of space as my wallet.

I listen to digital and vinyl exclusively. I only purchase CDs for collectability. I also have a Ipod Classic which I keep my entire music collection on, so if im in the car I just plug it in. I haven't listened to a CD in YEARS.

I'm in the VINYL / DIGITAL camp too!!
I only buy the CD's from the shows I attend.
I have 4 iPods...a shuffle I use with my shower radio,
an 8GB Nano that stays in my production van at work,
a 64GB iPod Touch I use with my SYNC audio system in my personal car
and a 160GB iPod Classic that holds my whole music collection.
I also use iTunes to listen to music on my PC at my desk at work,
so the "portability" of digital music really works for me & my lifestyle.
If I'm just hanging out around the house...I'm spinning my VINYL whenever possible!!

For PJ, I buy the studio CD's and CD's of the shows I've been to. Everything else is digital downloads.

How do you stream to multiple rooms with the Apple TV?

This 13' tour I was lucky enough to have mp3 versions of every show passed along to me. So I burned entire shows to one disc. Not ever done that before & was surprised at how well they sounded. Not as good as the FLAC HD or pressed discs, but won't argue with free.
