I think shinedown have some great tunes and their singer is really talented but I don't like this version. I kinda get the impression that he doesn't know the song very well. Either that or he is trying to put his own spin on it. I think the guitar sounded great though.
Heard about this on the radio the other morning. They're doing a covers EP because a lot of the original artists wouldn't allow them to release the cover on what was supposed to be a full album.. I thought Black was one that was declined.. maybe I am wrong?

i enjoy listen the best song in the history of music in any format,version,attempt...
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Very boring. I think he's actually reading the lyrics while singing it?? Just seems like they are playing it on a whim. There is nothing unique or interesting about this cover, which makes it somewhat pointless. They only time they try to make it theirs is maybe near the end, but it's not a good change. But hey, no harm in trying! .... did someone say this is actually on an album though? It definitely doesn't sound album-worthy.

He has a good voice. I just googled it and according to Loudwire Pearl Jam didn't make the cut. Here is the list. 1.’London Calling’ – Originally Performed By The Clash 2.’Sitting on the Dock of the Bay’ – Originally Performed By Otis Redding 3.’Nothing Else Matters’ – Originally Performed By Metallica 4.’She Talks to Angels’ – Originally Performed By Black Crowes 5.’Blue on Black’ – Originally Performed By Kenny Wayne Shepherd 6. ‘Runaway Train’ – Originally Performed By Soul Asylum People can say what they want about these "post grunge" bands being posers like Shinedown, Seether and Staind but one thing no one can argue is that they are fans of Pearl Jam so it's no big surprise that they cover their tunes. @dlymfld: not originally performed by but written by. I'm pretty sure all those tracks were written by those artists. To me there's a difference in who wrote it and who performed it. No criticism, just saying.
Kind of uninspired, lacking any real emotion........he is a pretty decent singer in the studio, but having seen Shinedown twice as a support band, he lip-synchs choruses - which is pretty much unforgivable in my book.
not bad-but possibly why it didn't make the cut for the EP. I like to see the stripped down side of a band. The lead singer Brent is a 'power singer'...quite the showman on stage, so it's nice to see a different style. I'd like to hear the other covers.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
