**Sydney has STILL never heard IN MY TREE** (and other songs we never knew)
With the excitement building for this week's BDO show, I thought I'd update a thread I started back in 2009 in the hope that the setlist influence this forum appears to have had in recent years gets back to the band B-)
As the title says, Sydney has NEVER HEARD IN MY TREE! One of my personal faves and I'm sure one for many fans who will be attendance on Sunday. The fact that it has been in higher rotation this tour gives me hope that we may finally get it.
While I'm at it, here is just a sample of the semi-regularly played songs that the Emerald City has never heard (and I hope to hear):
All Night
All Those Yesterdays
Alone
BREATH
Deep
Footsteps
Gonna See My Friend
HARD TO IMAGINE
Leash
Of The Girl
Parachutes
Rats
Satan's Bed
Sleight Of Hand
Wash
And then there are these that haven't got a guernsey in over a decade:
TREMOR CHRIST (last played 1995!!)
OCEANS (1998)
Brain of J (1998)
Faithfull (1998)
In Hiding (1998)
IMMORTALITY (2003)
Nothing As It Seems (2003)
Sometimes (2003)
Anyone who was at the last Sydney show in 2009 will remember Ed was ill (after catching a bug from some 'f*cker' in Melbourne) but carried on like the trouper that he is. Unfortunately, this meant the show had to be cut short, with the band omitting 5-6 songs from the setlist.
Eddie said next time they play Sydney they will 'cut the ticket price by 20 bucks' to say sorry. While that would've been great to take the heat off the pricey BDO tickets, how about the band just play longer? :-bd

I'd be up for both of those... Longer set with in my tree!!! Listening to my boot of the 2009 sydney show right now! Would also love to see dead man again... I saw it at my very first pearl jam concert, the first time it was ever played live.Post edited by Dan C onPJ Sydney 1998-03-09, 2003-02-11, 2003-02-14, 2006-11-07, 2006-11-08, 2006-11-18, 2009-11-22, 2014-01-26, 2024-11-21, 2024-11-23

I was just thinking about this the other day no joke about In my tree and leash. I have everything crossed that they play
In my tree, Leash, In hiding and Dissident0 -
They are playing a 15 min longer set in Sydney compared to Melbourne. That's a start at least.0

Yeah I remeber Footsteps was on the setlist for sydney 2009, but they had to cut it due to Ed being sick. Wouldn't mind seeing All or none... It's a bit of a rarity and sounds amazing on Benaroya. Sadly the Sydney crowd responds best to the greatest hits. Mind you if you hook them with a good opening singalong like 18th November 2006 gig, and it's a public holiday the next day, that'll get them in the mood for the rest of the show.Post edited by Dan C onPJ Sydney 1998-03-09, 2003-02-11, 2003-02-14, 2006-11-07, 2006-11-08, 2006-11-18, 2009-11-22, 2014-01-26, 2024-11-21, 2024-11-23

Getting in early to start some momentum for this. Almost 3 decades of coming to Sydney and we still haven’t got In My Tree. Make it happen people!2003-02-19 Melbourne

That’s an impressive list of in rotation songs never played in Sydney, end of tour shows, a good chance of a few of these, and In My Tree is still an outside chance- played 5 times this year before M1…I’ll take Wash & Satans Bed! (Actually anything on that list!)0
