Why no Getaway!!

Why isn't Getaway a single?

What have the singles been - MYM and Sirens?

Getaway is so awesome, best song on album as many of us agree. I'd love to start hearing this on radio, Alt Nation, etc., I think the public would love it.

So, why isn't it a single?

I think you are right about the public liking this song. I don't think PJ is the least bit concerned with pleasing or inriching the marketplace overlords and that is why its is not rereleased as a single. And that makes all these great hits in their cradle all the more special, for me anyway. They have to be discovered and not spoon fed. Just my opinion, probably way off.

The band just released every song as a Single. It's called Sevens.

The band does seem to have turned a corner in recent years regarding their "place" as superstars...so to speak. They do more media, the stage setups are more intricate and eye-catching. I for one like the new "acceptance" of their success. This release of sevens is something unprecedented for them...is it not? Any how the more PJ the better I think. It can only make the world a better place. <:-P

How is the release of Sevens unprecedented for them? This band releases more merchandise than most bands do.

I don't think most bands have the world wide following they do.

On a related issue. All that stuff they sell creates a lot of jobs in a very tough economy. And its not like they are gouging like the Rolling Slones. How many millions do you think the band generates in incomes other than their own every year. I bet they are one of the top employers in Seattle.

I think their brand and their Vitology foundation is helping to put a lot of kids through college.

What ever you do guys try not to blame them for somewhat submitting to the forces of capitalism. Its like the air, its all encompassing. Hey, don't you think your membership fees were pretty much returned in full year after year with the gift they send us?

I called and requested it but was told that the DJ has no way of playing anything not in the database.

    So...
    No getaway
    No got some
    No life wasted
    No ghost
    No grievance
    No nothing as it seems
    No given to fly
    No red mosquito
    No indifference
    No porch
    I found my place......and it's alright

I just know a lot of people would get excited about PJ to hear songs like this on the radio.. that way people i hang out with will ask me for more pj, go to shows, and enjoy them as well. otherwise, people have no inclination to pick up Lightning Bolt and hear it for themselves unless they like Sirens/MYM.

PJ has always done odd singles though (IMO anyway). I think it's on purpose, which is fine, but i know people would love this song

I was just thinking this the other day "why no more singles?". Getaway is the obvious choice, I dance like Eddie in his Lincoln every time.

    Wind this thing up.

You should see how mad Eddie gets though when I am dancing in HIS Lincoln.
