I will reserve judgement until I get the Hartford show on disc.

I know the Brooklyn 2 crowd was louder than how it sounds on the boot

    They lowered it

Worcester 1 boot has a good mix of crowd noise that doesn't distract from the music IMO.

    Wind this thing up.

If you enjoy crowd noise, there are some great audience recordings. You can barely hear the band, but you can hear conversations and bad singing with clarity. :)

Crowd noise is never as loud as I remember when listening to a bootleg. Audience and soundboard alike.

There are several audience recordings of Wrigley floating around and the crowd singing along to Release is not even close to as loud as it was that night.

I just prefer accurate representations of the show

Well, the music sounds great and that's what (obviously) really matters

Some officially released bootlegs have gotten the mix just right. It can vary show by show and tour by tour.

For a perfect example: Release from Boston 5/24/06. The official bootleg is essentially perfect in capturing the crowd:

Crowd noise is always lower. I just hope to hear the crowd during specific points of songs.

Ex. Indifference "Scream my lungs out til it fills this room", Small Town "Helloo" etc

Listenned to Buffalo, Wor I and Wor 2 '13 on a great sound system....

2013 boots are different from the 2011 boots...

You can hear Cameron much louder on the '13 boots... and the crowd noise is much more lowered on those...

Listen carefully between songs... you can hear the crowd's volume goin' up... and cut when the songs starts back...

Overall sound is better on the '11 boots... but man Cameron's drumming is so loud on the '13 boots!!!

Was at the Worcester I show with my buddy Alex and when we put the '13 boot... still looking for Boom's sound to pop up!

Completely agree. Obviously no one wants to hear nothing but the crowd, but an accurate representation would be nice. Kinda sucks when you're listening to a boot where you know the crowd was crazy, but that barely comes across.

They need to hire people who know how to make true matrix recordings.
