Here are the latest stats that I saw. Remember first this is about raising money for Orion Center...donations are at 66% of goal ( I wonder if that counts matching...my company matches. I'll ask the slog peeps.).

I see where you're coming from (although the tone was a bit harsh), but it's not only about "flipping the bill". sometimes it's about awareness and getting people involved and active in the community so they become passionate about it and won't let it happen again.

Agreed. The money is only part of it, raising awareness is huge. Plus, I bet they already donate or are planning to, they just aren't the kind of people who toot their own horn. This is just another avenue to raise funds and awareness which can only be a good thing. They aren't forcing us to donate at gunpoint, not interested in participating just move right on along.

Agree. You never know who/what causes people donate to already. This is about awareness in addition to funding. I see no harm in their helping an organization that may have asked for their help. In some way making a healthy competition between Mackelmore/Slog/PJ fans could be fun motivator as well. Why not? Try not to judge. The intentions are good. We're lucky, whatever any of us makes or doesn't make to have the support of people who love us, roofs over our heads, jobs, etc. Imagine being a kid who doesn't have that. You just need support. Hopefully it comes from a healthy place (people who volunteer or share what they can) vs. turning to less healthy ways of getting what you need (selling drugs, gangs), or just suffering and not having any of it. Try to think of it that way. If giving makes you feel good, do it. If you can't or don't want to give to this particular cause or you have already given to another, that is okay too.

IMO we can easily do this! Just donated although it wasn't a lot since I just lost my job. But I still have a roof over my head and food to eat. Think about these kids who don't and will turn to crime/drugs just so they can stay alive. Come on guys...any amount will help, no matter how big or small!
