Seattle GA Line Questions

Okay...so I have a question....it may be stupid...but since it's my first show, I will ask...

So I'm taking my mom to the Seattle Show...but I'm going to get to the GA line early around maybe 7 Am with my dad, and then around 2:00pm, my mom will show up so we can get our tickets and wristbands. Could my mom and I leave to go to the pre party and have my dad keep our place in line? Do we get numbers on our hands? Am I going crazy? Bueller?

If both of you leave for too long, you risk losing your place in line. One person should always be manning their spot in line. That is if you buy into the list and the line. I myself and my ticket buddy will not leave for any lengthy periods of time and will take turns with food/bathroom breaks.

But can someone without a GA wristband/ticket wait in line for us while we are gone?

I don't know. If it was me, I wouldn't dare abandon my spot for too long. Seattle line will be intense. There was a lot of cutting in line and tension in the spokane line. People get a little squirrely about "the line"

Also , keep in mind, you can enter through any entrance when the doors open. Lots of ppl make it to the first few rows without even waiting in line all day :)

My experience with GA lines is different for each show. Some lines ppl took off for hours and no one said anything. Then at one show, a bunch if ppl left after getting their numbers and didn't come back until 5pm, needless to say, shit got crazy and words were exchanged. This all happened behind my place in line so I stayed out of it, but I never saw these people in line at all. Its just courtesy to fellow jammers to do the time in the line if you want to be up as close as possible.

No one can hold your spot in line while you go hang out at the preparty...regardless of whether or not they have a GA wristband.
You can leave your spot and come back to it if:

You go to pick up your 10C tickets
You go to get some food (takeout...not a sitdown restaurant) & come right back to the line.
You go to the bathroom and come right back to the line.

You may be able to go buy merch & come back to your spot in line...I would recommend asking the people around you in line first if this is okay.

    Hope this helps.
You see me empty, Sir, do not pause and inquire, simply assume and refill.

And don't forget, after you get that sharpie marker number on your hand to post a bunch of sweet pictures of your unofficial meaningless number all over Facebook and the twitter. Because it's the cool thing to do.

Seriously, go enjoy Seattle, its a GREAT CITY.

Basically, if you choose to wait in line, that's where you should be all day. Its not fair to have someone 'hold your place' who isn't even attending the show, while you go off and party. Also, if your mom is attending, its probably wise to have her show up the same time you do to avoid pissing others off who had already been waiting all morning.

Like I said before, lots of ppl show up just before the doors open without waiting in line all day and still get the first few rows.

It'd still be better than waiting in the stupid line and freezing all day. Walk in when the doors open and get 5 rows back, unless you're so "elite" that being 5 rows back would ruin your night.

Its not about being 'elite', lol. Being on the rail is far better than 5 rows deep with a bunch of drunks, IMHO. I've done both. The rail is a better experience, period. The fact is, anywhere beyond 2 or 3 rows are the fans who were drinking all day and smell like ass. No thanks

I'd say go to the preparty, Rico. Lots of people will be happy to meet you in person :) I can promise you that you will still enjoy the show and have a fantastic time if you stand one, two or three or - oh my god :P - even ten rows back. I have been to 14 shows now and never had the rail and I'm still here and a huge fan and have a blast at every show.

I hope to meet you at the preparty :D

  • Everyone going to the Seattle show GA read #5 again and again from the 10c ticket conformation page.

    1. Ten Club Ticket distribution will open at 2:30pm on the day of the show. Ten Club will call is located in the main box office. Please arrive early to avoid waiting in long lines at the box office.

    3. Ten Club members must show government issued photo identification in person to collect purchased tickets. Only the Ten Club member whose name is on the membership account may pick the tickets up. You cannot send anyone else to pick tickets up for you. No exceptions.

    4. You will receive two (2) GA tickets and two (2) wristbands for you and your guest. You must have the wristband securely fastened to your wrist and present your GA standing ticket at the same time to gain entry to the GA standing area. If you do not present both, you will not be able to enter the GA area. Removed, broken, fake or tampered with wristbands will not be honored. Lost wristbands will not be replaced.

    5. GA ticket holders may enter the venue from any gate/door. The GA section is located on the floor directly in front of the stage and is first-come-first-serve.

Number 5 should be a rule that most people should remember. The people with the lists with names and telling you where you can and can't stand is ridiculous. It's unoffical and should be stopped.

That's our plan! I wanted to do GA for one show, but I really hate GA/crowds, so we will be hanging in the back/side of GA!

    Can't wait!

  • It also depends on the venue. At Dallas they let us wating in the GA line in early and MOST of us (except for a douchebag cutter), all lined up at the entrance to GA inside the building by number when they let us in. Then security led us in single file slowly to the area. There was no running or trampling bullshit.

It was really completely awesome and every venue should do the same thing. Our line was really great (except for the one douche). No one cared if you disappeared for an hour or so to go eat or whatever. Most of the time everyone was sitting in the line hanging out which was a lot of fun. I would hate to sit in line all day only to have all the doors open at the same time though. That would suck.
