Blur have pulled out!

Given the whole event was pinned around three big headliners - PJ , blur and Arcade Fire, let's hope they pull the pin and PJ just come and do a standalone Australasian lightning bolt tour.

    Why do you think BDO will be cancelled because one of the draw cards has pulled out??? Imagine the money they would have to refund! :o ... i think it will just go ahead, business as usual

    I second this. Instead of replacing Blur, just give PJ their time slot, that way we get a more or less average length show.

    I'm not saying it will but there is a chance the whole thing could fall over. The event has been on a steady decline for the last five years or so, this was their big come back year - what did they say - "lineup to end all lineups"??? Or something along those lines.

    Then one of their three draw cards pull out citing problems with the organisers.

    For everyone here who is only really going for pearl jam, there would be an equal amount of people going solely to see Blur. Remember, Blur haven't been to Australia for 17 years. A lot of those people will expect refunds and get there money back. The organisers will have to offer it, they always do when a headliner pulls out - remember limp bizkit in 2001?

    If they have a huge influx of people wanting refunds because blur has cancelled, and it has already been published that they are likely to lose $10 million on next years event, it just doesn't seem sustainable to continue

    Having said all this, I expect to be at Flemington and adelaide next year watching pearl jam. I'm sure the organisers will sort something out. Just doubt we will be seeing big day out 2015 - more likely to be rebranded as lollapalooza 2015.

    Ps. Am I the only one whose concerned the adelaide venue is still "subject to council approval" 9 weeks out from the event???
