    Maynard is waiting...
(Go on without him. He shouldn't be waiting, he should be contributing ...)

I hear the start of 2014?!!

You're right. I do know once it's done it'll be great.
  • I'm done being excited for the new album. I'll get it when it comes out, and I'm sure it will be awesome, but I'm just tired of giving a shit about it anymore.

How do you guys think they're going to release this one? Lots has changed since 2006, they won't sell very many CD's and we all know how they feel about the packaging of their stuff. They still don't have their shit on iTunes, and they never did release a vinyl of 10,000 Days. They're going to need digital sales.

I've said this in the past but I would like to see what they do with an iTunes digital booklet. They can get really creative with it.

On my way home after an absolutely epic couple of gigs in Auckland. With Tool you usually can predict the setlist and having seen them eight times previously I was content with seeing songs I'd already heard and nothing new.

This was absolutely thrown out the window from the fourth song on. I ended up having no idea what they were going to do and I fucking loved it. Sets were:

    Grudge
    Fear Inoculum
    Rosetta Stoned
    Disposition
    H
    Jambi
    Pneuma
    Crawl Away
    Vicarious
    Intolerance
    CC Trip
    Hand of Doom (Sabbath cover)
    Invincible

    Fear Inoculum
    Grudge
    Rosetta Stoned
    Intension
    Right In Two
    Pneuma
    Prison Sex
    H
    Sweat
    CC Trip
    Hand of Doom
    Invincible
    Vicarious

Five curveballs on night one, four on night two. Crawl Away first time since 98, H, Disposition and Prison Sex first time since 2002. Crawl Away; Intension, Hand of Doom and Sweat first time songs for me. Admittedly more hard-core fan friendly sets than the last two gigs they played here, but they were absolutely gargantuan. Kudos to Maynard for being able to pull both nights off.

If tickets are still available for the Pacific tour get one. The way these setlists were mixed up makes me want to follow them around, and hell if they are pulling this stuff out of their arses they might even up playing Eulogy.
Stars are suns to other people.

That's awesome they have brought back some of the older songs. H is one of my favorite Tool songs. Hopefully they add some US dates next year

I'm too old for music festivals lol. I was hoping they might add some dates around the one announced. I don't think that's going to happen with Maynards schedule. It would have to be towards the end of next year

I've seen Tool 4 times.  2 times were amazingly good, 1 time was ok, and 1 time was pretty bad (the stage setup was pretty big, and the speaker stacks blocked the view of the stage for anyone sitting in the wings in the first 3 sections in front of the stage, you were watching a concert without watching a lead singer).

I think I'm good for a lifetime, unless they play the city I live in (which is really rare, it happened once).

I do love listening to their albums, would be nice to get them on vinyl, instead of contact merch emails :)

They are awesome though their shows are somewhat unique in energy. Only been once at Power Trip in CA.
